Bank Of England Warned To Prepare For Economic Chaos Sparked By The Existence Alien Life
alien in front of UFO There is currently no proof that the universe is home to other intelligent life forms aside from the ones that inhabit Earth, and evidence to the contrary would be a very big deal. There’s no telling how people would react to that development, but one expert has warned the Bank of England to be prepared for a financial crisis triggered by that revelation. Humans have been debating the existence of extraterrestrial life for thousands of years. Thinkers in ancient Greece floated the notion of a “plurality of worlds” like the one we inhabit, and arguments for (and against) the probability of so-called “aliens” being real have gotten increasingly sophisticated as our knowledge of the universe has grown over the millennia. The odds of Earth being the only planet in the universe to boast some sort of life are infinitesimally small, and the same can be said for the notion that humans are responsible for cultivating the most advanced society in existence. With that said, we’re still waiting for the day when we’re treated to incontrovertible proof concerning alien life. It’s difficult to predict the impact that kind of discovery would have, but one economic expert is warning a major institution to be prepared for some negative ramifications if that information comes to light. A former security analyst at the Bank of England is sounding the alarm about the economic ramifications of alien life being confirmed Aliens have been a staple of science fiction for centuries, and while plenty of people have come forward with claims that they were abducted and ferried away to an unknown part of outer space in a UFO, they’ve been largely dismissed as crackpots. The same can be said for the conspiracy theorists who are convinced the United States government (and others around the world) has engaged in a massive cover-up concerning aliens who’ve already visited Earth and UFOs that are purportedly being stored in a warehouse in Area 51. A number of whistleblowers have come forward in recent years to support those claims, and Congress itself added some fuel to the fire with a series of hearings concerning the UFOs the military officially refers to as “unidentified anomalous phenomena.” Those proceedings did not produce any concrete evidence concerning alien life, but according to The Times, the Bank of England has been warned to prepare for what would be one of the most monumental days in human history if that ends up changing. Helen McCaw, who formerly served as a senior analyst specializing in financial security for that institution, recently sent a letter to Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey to warn him about the potentially disastrous ramifications of alien life coming to light, saying: “It is entirely possible that government leadership and their central banks have not been properly briefed on the topic. UAP disclosure is likely to induce ontological shock and provoke psychological responses with material consequences. There might be extreme price volatility in financial markets due to catastrophising or euphoria, and a collapse in confidence if market participants feel uncertain on how to price assets using any of the familiar methods.” McCaw warned the price of precious metals like gold and silver could either skyrocket or plummet, saying people may turn to those historically trusted assets or dump them out of fears that alien technology could cause their value to drop. She also said digital currency like Bitcoin could end up being attractive if people lose their faith in government-backed funds and predicted it wouldn’t take long for chaos to reign if alien life is confirmed, adding, “I would say that in a matter of hours, you are going to have total financial instability….Even if you feel it’s very unlikely, it’s madness not to consider it and plan accordingly.” Good to know. Hailee Steinfeld’s Steamy Role In ‘Sinners’ Has Given NFL Fans An Entirely New Way To Mock Josh Allen
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was one of the main characters of the NFL’s divisional round over the weekend as his prodigious talent clashing with his confounding decision making sparked a divisive debate around whether or not the former MVP deserves sympathy or blame of Buffalo’s postseason struggles. While the Bills were able to score 30 points on the road against the AFC’s #1 overall seed, Josh Allen had four turnovers in the overtime loss — two interceptions and two fumbles. In the Buffalo Bills’ 33-30 loss to the Denver Broncos, Allen completed 25 of 39 passes for 283 yards, 3 touchdowns, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles. With many NFL fans seemingly “hate watching” the Bills on Sunday, they reveled in Buffalo’s loss by mocking Allen over his wife Hailee Steinfeld’s steamy role as Mary in Ryan Coogler’s Sinners. Oh well. No KC and still can’t get over the hump.” “Josh Allen boutta go home and catch Hailee watching Sinners after that loss.” “That OT was a tougher watch for Josh Allen than Sinners.” Josh Allen after watching THAT scene in Sinners. pic.twitter.com/mSVoCzDI78 — Drew Brady (@TomBledsoe11) January 18, 2026 Josh Allen when he was watching ‘Sinners’ and Michael B. Houston Texans Plane Got Stuck In Snow At Airport For Excruciating Travel Delay After Loss To Patriots
The Houston Texans finally landed back home at the airport in Texas around 8:15 a.m. on Monday morning, more than 14 hours after their loss to the New England Patriots. Their plane got stuck in the snow. A bad day got even worse. Although the flight eventually got in the air, it did not fly straight home. The NFL team was diverted. The Houston Texans lost to the New England Patriots. According to the flight log for United flight 3813, the B772 aircraft left the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston at 12:04 p.m. CST on Saturday afternoon. It landed at the Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport in Providence at 3:58 p.m. EST. The Houston Texans had just gone into the locker room at halftime of the AFC Divisional Round game. CJ Stroud had already thrown an NFL record four interceptions during the first half, which ultimately proved to be the difference between a win and a loss. DeMeco Ryans made sure to seal the deal with poor clock management throughout the second half and a pathetic punt during the four quarter. The New England Patriots ultimately advanced to the AFC Championship game by a final score of 28-16. The clock hit zero at 6:15 p.m. EST on Saturday evening. Players still had to shower, change, etc. Ryans and his team still had to meet with the media. It was not a quick exit out of Foxboro after the game. To make matters worse, Gillette Stadium is located about 35 miles from the Providence airport— a 40 minute drive. And a heavy snow was starting to fall. The team plane got stuck at the airport. Upon arrival to the airport, it became abundantly clear that it could be awhile before the Houston Texans actually got in the air. All flights were grounded due to weather. The planes were covered in snow and ice. https://twitter.com/OnlyInBOS/status/2013061344959086888 The above photo (of a different plane at the same airport) was captured at 8:30 p.m. EST. Houston’s plane, flight UAL3813, was still on the ground in Providence as of 1:00 a.m. EST. It finally got in the air around 1:45 a.m. EST. However, the flight was diverted to Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. I don’t yet know why it was diverted but I would assume it had to do with the weather. Something needed a check. Maybe they couldn’t fuel up all of the way in Providence because of the snow. I don’t know. Doesn’t matter. United flight 3813 landed in Newark at 2:27 a.m. EST. The Houston Texans sat on the tarmac for more than two hours while whatever needed to get done got done. They finally took off for Texas at 4:37 a.m. EST. It is a four(ish)-hour flight from Newark to Houston. The Texans finally landed back home at Bush Intercontinental at 7:17 a.m. CST. The return trip, which started when the clock hit zero at 6:15 p.m. EST on Saturday, took more than 13 hours in total. There may not be a worse way to sit with a demoralizing loss. Ben Affleck Reminds Everyone That He’s Basically A Genius With Searingly Brilliant Take On AI During Joe Rogan Interview
ben affleck Given that Ben Affleck is so often making headlines for his personal life, people can forget that he’s actually one of the smartest dudes in Hollywood, with his recent explanation of AI on Joe Rogan’s pocast being the latest reminder of that fact. While the internet will tell you that Ben Affleck’s IQ is 154, that’s obviously difficult to confirm. What is verifiable, though, is that his ex-wife Jennifer Garner once described Affleck as being “the most brilliant person in any room.” There’s also the fact that he’s navigated decades of career highs and lows, which is not something that an unintelligent person would be able to do. During a recent apperance on The Joe Rogan Experience to promote his new Netflix film The Rip, Affleck was asked about the incursion of AI on Hollywood, particularly as it concerns script writing. Ben Affleck goes viral with articulate and brilliant breakdown of artificial intelligence and why it’s not as big of a threat as some people believe “If you try to get ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini to write you something, it’s really s—–. And it’s s—– because, by its nature, it goes to the average. It’s not reliable,” Affleck said. “It’s a useful tool if you’re a writer and you’re going, ‘What’s the—I’m trying to set something up where somebody sends someone a letter but it’s delayed two days…’ and it can give you some examples of that. I actually don’t think it’s very likely that it’s going to be able to write anything meaningful, and in particular that it’s going to be making movies from whole cloth. Like Tilly Norwood. That’s bulls—. I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he continued. From there, Affleck made the point that much of the “dread” surrounding AI is a bit of a manufactured as it comes from the fact that the companies creating them are making promises about it potential that they likely won’t deliver on. “It kind of feels to me like the thing we were talking about earlier where there’s a lot more fear because we have this sense of existential dread—it’s going to wipe everything out. But that actually runs counter, in my view, to what history seems to show, which is that a) adoption is slow. It’s incremental… I think a lot of that rhetoric comes from people who are trying to justify valuations around companies where they go, “We’re going to change everything in two years. There’s going to be no more work.” “Well, the reason they’re saying that is because they need to ascribe a valuation for investment that can warrant the capex spend they’re going to make on these data centers, with the argument that, ‘Oh, as soon as we do the next model, it’s going to scale up, it’s going to be three times as good.’ Additionally, while AI saw an initial steep spike in progress, it’s since tapered off as it’s now costing more to improve it by a smaller margin. “Except that actually ChatGPT-5 is about 25 percent better than ChatGPT-4 and costs about four times as much in electricity and data. So that’s plateauing. The early AI — the line went up very steeply and it’s now sort of leveling off. I think it’s because, yes, it’ll get better, but it’s going to be really expensive to get better.” “And a lot of people were like, ‘F— this, we want ChatGPT-4.’ Because it turned out the vast majority of people who use AI are using it as companion bots to chat with at night and stuff. There’s no work, there’s no productivity, there’s no value to it. I would also argue there’s also not a lot of social value to getting people to focus on an AI friend who’s telling you that you’re great and listening to everything you say and being sycophantic. But that’s sort of a side issue.” “For this particular purpose, the way I see the technology and what it’s good at and what it’s not—it’s going to be good at filling in all the places that are expensive and burdensome and make it harder to do things. And it’s always going to rely fundamentally on the human artistic aspects of it.” Honestly, Ben Affleck actually knowing AI and…

Bills Fans Angry Davante Adams Play Was Ruled A Catch A Day After Controversial Interception
Bills fans are still not happy with NFL refs. On Saturday, the Broncos were awarded a controversial interception against the Bills, angering fans. In the play, Bills wide receiver Brandin Cooks appeared to be down by contact when he was stripped of the ball by a Broncos defender. The refs eventually decided that Cooks did not complete the process of a catch and ruled the play an interception. “The receiver has to complete the process of a catch. He was going to the ground as part of the process of the catch and he lost possession of the ball when he hit the ground. The defender gained possession of it at that point. The defender was the one who completed the process of the catch, so the defender was awarded the ball.” I will watch this till the end of time saying Cooks had total control of the ball when he hit the ground pic.twitter.com/OtTzcho12k — Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) January 18, 2026 On Sunday, a similar play went down during the Rams-Bears game in which Davante Adams was ruled down by contact and awarded the catch before he got stripped of the ball. This was ruled a catch by Davante Adams. I know every Bills fan is losing it watching this, they said he was ruled down by contact. Thoughts? pic.twitter.com/21Afb1d4Jw — SM Highlights (@SMHighlights1) January 19, 2026 NBC NFL rules analyst Terry McAulay believed the refs made the right call on the Adams play. “He clearly completed the catch, he has it long enough, and his knee was down’ Bills fans reacted to the Adams play on social media. 24 hours apart almost the exact same Left: Ruled an NFL interception. Right: Ruled an NFL catch, Adams is down by contact AND the refs take time to review it. It’s getting harder to explain the rules of this league. pic.twitter.com/EpEjGl1gRB — Michael Schwartz (@MSchwartzTV) January 19, 2026 THE #NFL HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE REFEREES.
