2026 Las Vegas Raiders Draft Scouting: Elijah Sarratt
Position: Wide Receiver Height: 6’2 Weight: 214 Stats: 2025 (14 games) – 62 receptions, 802 yards, 15 touchdowns, 12/26 contested catches Class/Age: Senior (22) Team: Indiana Positives: Sarratt has been highly productive in his career between St. Francis, JMU, and now Indiana logging a career 237 receptions, 3630 and and 44 touchdowns with a career 1213 yards after the catch and a 68% contested catch rate though that number has fallen a little bit in recent years since being 79% in 2023. Sarratt has a massive physical frame but doesn’t win with just pure size. He’s got smooth, natural route running with good ability to drop and sink his hips, jab at the key of the route and then explode out of his cuts to make a play and separate from the defensive back. Sarratt shows an immense ability to win with his size, route running, and overall athletic ability paired together. He shows an innate ability to high point the ball and go outside of his frame to make a play near the sideline or over the middle where he’s physical enough to absorb contact and consistently utilize his athletic style to adjust to YAC opportunities. Sarratt is able to naturally have a strong feel for the chains, consistently finding his way to break at the key and alongside the line of scrimmage with a career 177 first downs on 237 receptions. Additionally, Sarratt does a phenomenal job going to the ball with his hands and keeping it out of his chest and frame to prevent ill time drops. Additionally, Sarratt showcases subtle initial explosion and a good release that allows for him to be a dominant receiver off the line of scrimmage and into initial contact at the route where he’s physical enough to fight off majority of defensive backs. Sarratt has capable long speed with the ability to not take the top off a defense but he’s able to effectively play downfield and be a consistent three phase receiver. Sarratt also showcases good instincts and knowledge at the position with an ability to utilize head fakes, body movements, and an ability to identify coverages to find soft drops. Elijah Sarratt is going to make some team very happy early in round 2.Physical as hell and wins at the catch point through contact more often than not. pic.twitter.com/ikTAkO8Scg— Dynasty FF Wolf (@DynastyFFWolf) January 10, 2026 Weakness: Sarratt doesn’t have a ton of elite long speed, and likely will be a consistent 4.48-4.54 40 guy, he does struggle to be a long downfield receiver but will work well intermediately. Sarratt will need to also improve how he is jammed off the line of scrimmage as initial physical contact can sometimes cause him to be shaken in his route concept and cause issues getting into the route and being able to consistently get into space. Sarratt doesn’t have the long speed to take most plays to the house but does an ok job after the catch though his drops often come when looking to run before having the ball. Despite being 6’2 he doesn’t have the largest catch radius and likely will be limited at times with out of frame catches. Sarratt is an adequate blocker, showcasing an effort and drive to do so but the technique, strength at POA, and overall effectiveness can be limited. The senior receiver is limited in being a truly conventional outside X receiver and doesn’t have much ability to work into the slot or the Z. He can get caught up vs man coverage when his initial release and movement in space don’t work as effective. 2026 WR Class | Early Production ProfilesMakai Lemon and Elijah Sarratt check the boxes.Haven’t heard TCU’s Eric McAlister come up in draft talks at all, but he deserves a real look. pic.twitter.com/zjJvW70gdM— Gridiron Grading (@GridironGrading) October 15, 2025 Grade: 2.75 – Mid to Late 2nd Round Pro-Comp: Michael Pittman Jr Sarratt is going to make a few NFL teams very excited with the level of play he can provide. Playoff lessons: Klint Kubiak next Las Vegas Raiders head coach? Broncos’ playoff run Nix-ed?
One of the perks that Tom Brady enjoys as Las Vegas Raiders minority owner? His gig with Fox Sports affords him the opportunity to broadcast and watch postseason games. And, as the Silver & Black continues its hunt for a head coach, Brady got a bird’s eye view of one of the candidates the team has shown interest in: Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. And hearing Brady’s impressed exclamation combined with a chuckle after running back Kenneth Walker III galloped in for a seven-yard touchdown just before halftime to boost the Seahawks commanding lead to 24-6 was likely the same reaction folk who like Kubiak as candidate to captain the Raiders. Seattle’s 41-6 victory over the San Francisco 49ers was an exhibition in ground & pound as Kubiak put the Seahawks’ offense on Walker’s capable shoulders and the tailback produced 145 total yards and three touchdowns. 145 total yards3 TouchdownsKenneth Walker III got a hat trick and a trip to the NFC Championship 🎩 @seahawks pic.twitter.com/QOvRNaCZpl— NFL (@NFL) January 18, 2026 One has to wonder if Kubiak — the architect of Seattle’s third-ranked scoring offense and eighth-ranked offense in yards gained — is indeed a prime candidate for Las Vegas’ opening or if he’s just merely a name on the Raiders’ list? And vice versa, is Kubiak seriously considering the Silver & Black’s head gig or just going through the process? Kubiak wasn’t the lone member of his family tree to have an interview with Las Vegas, his brother Klay — the 49ers offensive coordinator — spoke with the team on Sunday. The Raiders also had an interview with Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady on the same day. Brady and general manager John Spytek are engaging in a deliberate process to land a new head coach but expect the Raiders’ list to whittle down this coming week as the playoffs moves into the AFC and NFC Championship tilts. And if Klint Kubiak is a serious contender, Las Vegas’ wait could be prolonged depending on how far the Seahawks advance. Playoff Hopes Nix-ed? The AFC West-champion Denver Broncos’ truly rode the highs and lows of a dramatic 33-30 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills on Saturday. The team’s exhilaration of advancing to the AFC title game received a sudden gut punch when head coach Sean Payton walked up to the postgame podium and announced quarterback Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle fracture. I cannot lie: When the news hit social media, I thought it was accounts being hacked. But seeing Payton’s face and hearing his voice in the press conference after the game was a reminder of the sobering reality of the game of football at times. Broncos coach Sean Payton details the circumstances of learning about Bo Nix's season-ending ankle fracture:"As he comes over [to the sideline], I kind of chest bump him, jab him, like, 'Fricking A.' And he's like, 'Careful.' It was then I'm like, 'You all right?' And he said,… pic.twitter.com/9IoOcq9KHb— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) January 18, 2026 Denver now turns to backup Jarrett Stidham as QB1 and the 29-year-old draws quite the matchup with the New England Patriots — the team that drafted him in the fourth round (133rd overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Payton’s play-call acumen is going to be thoroughly tested by Terrell Williams’ New England defense, a group that intercepted Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud four times on Saturday. The Broncos need Nik Bonitto and the other pass rushers to get to Patriots quarterback Drake Maye — sacked five times and fumbling four times (losing two) — by the Texans stout defense. Las Vegas is likely to use the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 draft on a quarterback — presumably Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza if he declares. So that’s a potential answer for QB1. But what about QB2? Let’s assume Mendoza is the pick, the Raiders do have Geno Smith and Aidan O’Connell under contract. It’s difficult to see Smith remaining now that Pete Carroll is no longer employed by the team. And with…

The latest Las Vegas Raiders coaching search updates
It’s been exactly two weeks since the Las Vegas Raiders fired Pete Carroll and began their head-coaching search. The process is kicking into the second phrase. Monday, ESPN reported that the Raiders will have second interviews with Los Angels Chargers defensive coordinator and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley this week. Meanwhile, there are rumors floating that Hafley may become the head coach of the Miami Dolphins early this week. Hafley was hired by Miami on Monday afternoon. Previously, it was reported that the Raiders will have a second interview with Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. All of these interviews are expected to be in person. Teams are allowed to start in-person interviews Monday. Thus, both Minter and Evero are defensive-minded coaches. They’d all be first-time NFL head coaches. Of the Raiders 14 coaches interviewed, nine were offensive coaches. So, expect some candidates from that side of the ball to be interviewed again. The Raiders are satisfying the NFL’s Rooney Rule this week and will be free to make a hire soon. Las Vegas, which hired Carroll in a 17-day process last year, may wait until next week so they can interview candidates who are in the NFC championship round. The Raiders have interviewed six coaches still in the playoffs. They are Mike LeFeluer, Nate Scheelhaase and Chris Shula of the Los Angeles Rams, Vance Joseph and Davis Webb of the Denver Broncos and Klint Kubiak of the Seattle Seahawks. There are now eight current openings with the Buffalo Bills firing Sean McDermott on Monday morning. It will be interesting to see if the Raiders try to talk to McDermott. Two teams have filled their jobs, the New York Giants (John Harbaugh) and the Atlanta Falcons (Kevin Stefanski). Stefanski interviewed with the Raiders. Others they could try to interview include Robert Saleh and Brian Flores. So, while they are entering the second phase, there are reasons to believe this process isn’t close to being completed.
