Damon and his co-star Ben Affleck have been giving interviews while promoting their latest Netflix action-thriller, The Rip. Notably, The Rip also stars Teyana Taylor, Steven Yeun, and Sasha Calle, amongst others, and dropped on the streaming platform on January 16. Matt Damon recalls first impression of this A-list actor On The Howard Stern Show, Matt Damon revealed what his first impression of Pedro Pascal was. Damon was cast opposite Emily Blunt in the 2011 sci-fi romantic thriller, The Adjustment Bureau. Pascal also starred in the film as Maitre D’ Paul De Santo. Although he had a small part, Damon felt Pascal made a remarkable impression on the cast and audiences alike. The Martian star shared, “I’ve done cameos and things, and it’s a very, very, very difficult thing to do.” He continued, “In fact, this is really interesting… I did a movie with Emily Blunt called The Adjustment Bureau, and we were shooting a scene in New York, and we came in, and there was this throwaway part of a maître d’ who sat us, and it got cut out of the movie.” Damon recalled that he and Blunt watched some vital footage of the film and couldn’t take their eyes off Pascal, collectively gushing over him. The Rip star confessed, “But I remember Emily and I went and sat down and this maître d’ walked away, and they cut, and we both looked at each other, and Em goes, ‘That guy’s really f*****g good.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, what the f***?’” Continuing further, he stated, “That guy was really good. There was something just incredibly interesting, but real and natural… And years later, I found out it was Pedro Pascal. Not even a day player with anything actually really to do. Just his presence, we both recognized it immediately. And it was Pedro.” Elsewhere in the interview, Damon and Affleck gushed over their long-lasting friendship, their Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting, and their new movie, The Rip. Ilhan Omar, claiming she should be imprisoned or sent out of the United States. The remarks come amid rising tensions in Minnesota following increased federal law enforcement activity. Donald Trump calls out Rep. Ilhan Omar Donald Trump made the comments on January 18, using Truth Social to accuse Rep. Ilhan Omar of being linked to alleged large-scale fraud involving Minnesota’s Somali community. In his post, Trump claimed, “There is 19 Billion Dollars in Minnesota Somalia Fraud. Fake ‘Congresswoman’ Illhan Omar, a constant complainer who hates the USA, knows everything there is to know.” He went on to add, “She should be in jail, or even a worse punishment, sent back to Somalia, considered one of the absolutely worst countries in the World. She could help to MAKE SOMALIA GREAT AGAIN!” The statement represents the latest public insult Trump has directed at Omar following years of verbal attacks. Omar, a U.S. citizen since 2000, was born in Mogadishu, Somalia. Her family arrived in the United States as asylum seekers in 1995, before settling in Minneapolis. She made history in 2019 as the first Somali American elected to Congress and the first woman of color to represent Minnesota in the House. Following Trump’s latest Truth Social post, Omar did not issue a direct response. Instead, she celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by sharing a quote from the late civil rights leader on X. It read, “‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’” Omar added that she was reflecting on the quote amid “deep injustice.” “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.
