Bayern Munich boss won’t stifle squad’s creativity
Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany loves the way his team plays and the last thing he would want to do is alter the fantastic way that they play together. A big piece of why Bayern Munich has been so successful so far this season is the creativity in the group and even though not every creative idea works, the head coach is not going to ask his guys to throttle it down because it is part of what makes them special. “That’s what it’s all about for me at every moment. I want our technically strongest players to have the ball, the four or five up front leading the line. These are the guys who make the difference. The question is: How do we get the ball to them? How do we create space for them? How do we give them three or four options? A dribble, a one-two, a cross… If they have the choice, we’ve done a good job. Then they can show what only they can do,” said Kompany (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). Kompany giving his players such freedom has worked well and has, no doubt, been well-received by the team. The results have not been too bad either, eh?
