Usually, few clubs rival Bayern Munich when it comes to changing coaches as if they were used underwear, but Manchester United can give them a run for their money. Unfortunately, changing coaches has never seemed to fix what seems to be more of a systemic issue in Manchester. Enter Kovač, master of the dark arts. The interest does make sense, however, since Kovač plays a heavy-on-defense, counter-attacking brand of football that emphasizes defensive stability, quick counters, an intense press without the ball, and inverted wing-backs to support the midfield. At this point, Manchester United might benefit from a Kovač-like coach, since this team has serious defensive issues. However, there is genuine doubt over whether the club can actually be fixed at this point.
