San Jose police arrest Gilroy man linked to 114 vehicle burglaries in two days
A Gilroy man has been arrested in connection with 114 vehicle burglaries in a two-day period at apartment complexes near the Cisco Systems campus in North San Jose. The burglaries on Nov. 8 and 9 occurred in the parking garages of four multi-family housing developments, police said Friday. Two were near River Oaks Park — in the 300 block of Crescent Village Circle and the 3400 block of Iron Point Drive — and two near Tasman and Zanker — in the 3700 block of Casa Verde Street and the 100 block of Baypointe Parkway. “Over a hundred victims were terrorized by one senseless suspect who thought his actions would go unnoticed,” San Jose Police Chief Paul Joseph said in a press release. “SJPD made sure you got our full attention and now you will face the consequences of victimizing our San Jose community.” Detectives executed a search warrant Wednesday at the Gilroy home of Ramses Hernandez Rivera, 23, and located evidence, police said. Rivera was already in custody at Santa Clara County Main Jail for an unrelated crime, police said. Anyone with information related to this or similar cases is asked to contact Detective Bergstrom of the San Jose Police Department Burglary Unit at 4318@sanjoseca.gov or (408) 277-4401.
