Collegiate record earns Jallow-Lockhart national accolade
FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback Sanu Jallow-Lockhart earned the USTFCCCA Women’s NCAA Division I National Athlete of the Week accolade after starting the indoor season in grand fashion by breaking the 600m collegiate record by nearly a full second. In producing a winning time of 1:24.19, the 2026 world leader, Jallow-Lockhart smashed the previous collegiate and Arkansas record of 1:25.16 set by Razorback Britton Wilson in 2023. Jallow-Lockhart claimed the victory by 2.5 seconds at the Arkansas Invitational. Additional records Jallow-Lockhart broke include the Randal Tyson Track Center best of 1:24.60 set by Arkansas alum Shafiqua Maloney in 2025 along with the Arkansas Invitational record of 1:24.65 set by Shamier Little in 2023. Jallow-Lockhart ranks No. 8 on the world all-time list while Maloney and Little now rank No.10 and No. 11. Razorback women’s head coach Chris Johnson In improving her Gambian national record of 1:25.37 from last year’s meet, Jallow-Lockhart now holds the African record that was previously held by Razorback Regina George, who represented Nigeria, with a 1:25.76 from the 2014 Arkansas Invitational. Jallow-Lockhart also ranks No. 2 all-time among Commonwealth nations, trailing the leading time of 1:23.41 set by Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson in 2023.
