Commanders vs Giants Thursday Injury Report: Two players return to practice

Kliff Kingsbury: “Scoring zero points shouldn’t happen in the NFL”
Kliff Kingsbury talked to the media before Thursday’s practice. He was asked about Jayden Daniels’ development this season, and how it has been affected by his injuries, and injuries to other starters on offense. The team hasn’t been able to get into a rhythm due to the amount of injuries not allowing consistency in practice and games. He called this a unique year, as the team tried to play to their strengths from last season, but they were limited by several factors. Kliff Kingsbury regrets a lot of things about the Commanders’ 31-0 loss to the Vikings last week. “Scoring zero points shouldn’t happen in the NFL”. There were questions about his play calling on Washington’s opening drive. They got the ball to the two-yard line, but only ran it on 1st down. They threw the ball from shotgun three times and turned the ball over on downs after Deebo Samuel failed to secure a pass in the back of the end zone. “There’s 30 plays in that game I wish I’d called something differently. … There weren’t a lot of great play calls in that game. And like I said, that’s on me and I’ve got to get better.” Zach Ertz suffered a torn ACL when he went up for a pass, but was taken out at the knee and flipped. Ben Sinnott and Colson Yankoff will need to step up for the final four games in his absence, and Kingsbury thinks they’re prepared for the challenge. “With a guy like Zach, you don’t take him off the field in critical situations. So they’re going to get their opportunity in some of those situations, and I’m sure they’re up to the challenge.” LIVE: OC Kliff Kingsbury speaks to the media before practice https://t.co/xl5U6bys4B— Washington Commanders (@Commanders) December 11, 2025 Jayden Daniels/Injuries affecting consistency: Kliff Kingsbury said the offense has never had consistency since the spring because of injuries, absences. Commanders vs Giants Wednesday Injury Report: Two players added with new injuries
The Washington Commanders held their first full practice of the week today. Dan Quinn announced that Jayden Daniels won’t play against vs the Giants on Sunday. Last week was his first game back since dislocating his left elbow vs the Seahawks in Week 9. He reaggravated the injury when he was shoved to the ground while trying to chase the Vikings’ defender that just picked him off. Quinn said he is week-to-week, and Marcus Mariota gets another start. Daniels was limited in practice today. Two players have been added to this week’s report with new injuries. CB Jonathan Jones (rib) and RB Chris Rodriguez Jr (groin) didn’t practice today. DE Drake Jackson (groin/knee) was activated from IR a week ago, but hasn’t practiced since rejoining the 53-man roster. He has been sidelined since 2023, and will continue to miss time as he gets back into football shape. The Commanders needed to activate him last week, or he would have been shut down for the season. Veteran LB Bobby Wagner missed two practices with a new knee injury, but he played vs the Vikings after practicing on Friday. He got another day off. Backup OT George Fant was added to the injury report last Friday with a knee injury, and was ruled out. He has only been active for four games this season, and has only played on special teams. He got a full practice in today, along with WR Noah Brown who played his first game since Week 2. Chargers Power Rankings Roundup: Critics still tough on Bolts despite beating SB Champs
The Chargers are now winners of two consecutive games coming off of their Week 12 bye. While the win over the Raiders was nice, being able to outlast the defending Super Bowl champions in overtime, in your own stadium, in primetime, is incredibly hard to top. Justin Herbert played through a surgically-repaired left hand and was rewarded with being sacked nine times by the Eagles. Despite the beatdown he was receiving, Herbert still managed to lead the Chargers with 66 rushing yards as he used his legs to give him team a shot every step of the way. At the end of an insane game, the Bolts walked away victors. However, members of the media are still very skeptical about ranking the Chargers much higher than they were a week ago. I don’t necessarily agree with their rankings, but to each their own. With that said, let’s go ahead and see where they landed amongst the rankings this week. Touchdown Wire – #8 CBS Sports – #11 Given their daunting schedule, that might have been a season-saving win over the Eagles on Monday night. Justin Herbert showed a lot playing through the hand injury. – Pete Prisco Sports Illustrated – #12 This has been a fairly outsized sample of quarterbacks playing with significant injuries this year, from Daniel Jones to Carson Wentz to Jordan Love to Aaron Rodgers. But watching Justin Herbert get absolutely smashed behind a perforated offensive line and finishing as the team’s leading rusher a week after surgery was as close to peak heroism at the position we’ve seen this year. – Conor Orr ESPN – #13 Herbert has been uncharacteristically reckless with the football in 2025. Last season, he had the fewest interceptions in the NFL (three), reinforcing his place as one of the league’s best decision-makers. This season has been a different story. His 11 interceptions are already his second most in a single season, and he threw one Monday night. Herbert’s career high for interceptions was 15 in 2021.”- Kris Rhim The Athletic – #11 The Chargers have missed their two best offensive tackles for most of the season, but never more than Monday night. Justin Herbert was sacked seven times and hurried another 11 times and led the Chargers in rushing with 66 yards, some of which he gained while simply running for his life. Still, Los Angeles won for the fifth time in six games. – Josh Kendall Pro Football Talk – #11 They found a way on a night that didn’t feel like it was going their way. – Mike Florio USA Today – #12 So many of their key players have been hit with injuries. But when you’re led by tough guys like QB Justin Herbert and OLB Khalil Mack, who have shrugged off their own physical setbacks, and now have rookie RB Omarion Hampton back in the fold, then you’re a team wired well to deal with late-season (and postseason) adversity. – Nate Davis Bleacher Report – #12 An argument can be made that we have undersold the Chargers all season. The Bolts just beat the reigning Super Bowl champions with a quarterback who had surgery on a broken hand a week ago. Their defense was fantastic, forcing five Jalen Hurts turnovers. However, there is an important caveat: Herbert was sacked a career-high seven times by an Eagles team that had struggled to rush the passer this season. He was also the team’s leading rusher. He threw for 139 yards. And the Bolts turned it over three times in their own right. The Chargers are a 9-4 team, but they are a flawed 9-4 team with a brutal schedule the rest of the way—including three on the road. Will the Chargers make the playoffs? Yes. Will they do any damage there? No. – Gary Davenport Pro Football Network – #15 Justin Herbert underwent surgery on his injured left hand last Monday. This Monday, he led the Los Angeles Chargers on a game-tying drive in the final two minutes, forcing the game into overtime against the Eagles. He ran 33 yards during the final drive in the fourth quarter and overtime. After the Chargers went up three to start, Tony Jefferson secured the win by intercepting Jalen…

Chargers open up as betting underdogs ahead of Week 15 vs. Chiefs
The Los Angeles Chargers are coming off a big win against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles in overtime in Week 14 and now they are getting ready to play the team they lost to in the big game in the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chargers are a better team record-wise than the Chiefs, but FanDuel Sportsbook lists the Chargers as a 4.5-point underdog against Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the rest of Kansas City. The Chargers are 9-4, which is three games ahead of the Denver Broncos in the AFC West. They are currently holding onto a Wild Card spot alongside the Buffalo Bills, who are also 9-4, and the Houston Texans, who are 8-5, but have won five games in a row. The Chiefs are no longer a threat to win the AFC West and are clinging onto faint playoff hopes. They may need to win all four of their final games on the schedule in order to clinch a spot in the postseason. If the Chargers were able to pull out a win against the Chiefs, they could possibly end their dynastic run, which has seen them go to eight consecutive AFC championship games. That’s what’s on the line in a very crucial week 15 matchup between the two division rivals. Kickoff between the Chargers and Chiefs is set for Sunday at 10 a.m. PT from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Fans can watch the game on CBS or stream it on the Paramount Plus app.
