Given the uncertainty at quarterback and potential salary cap challenges, the Browns may not be a premier destination for head coach candidates, making it unsurprising that the hiring process is taking longer than expected. Coaches interviewing for the position will need to carefully assess how they would fit into a role with a team facing many uncertainties. From Cleveland’s perspective, they certainly want to take their time, especially if they are planning to hire a younger and more inexperienced coach. The team will want to confirm that they can provide the resources and staffing necessary to support the coach’s success. If not, hiring someone more inexperienced would be a massive waste.
