Bills might add 2x Super Bowl champion as next head coach in 2026 for Josh Allen
The Bills are eyeing a very intriguing name to replace Sean McDermott as head coach for the 2026 season. Major changes are coming for the team led by Josh Allen. The Bills are considering Anthony Lynn as a potential replacement for Sean McDermott. According to a report by Adam Schefter, they have already requested an interview with him for their head coach position. “Former Bills assistant head coach and current Commanders run game coordinator Anthony Lynn, a finalist for the Buffalo head coaching job in 2017 that went to Sean McDermott, is scheduled to interview for the Bills head coach job Saturday, per a league source. Back in 2017, Lynn landed the Chargers head coaching job instead and posted a 33-31 record in the midst of the team’s relocation to LA. Since then, Lynn has studied under coaches such as Dan Campbell, Kyle Shanahan and Dan Quinn.” The Buffaki Bills parted ways with Sean McDermott because they didn’t consider him the right person to help Josh Allen win a Super Bowl. According to team owner Terry Pegula, the playoff loss to the Broncos made it very clear that a change in direction was necessary. Who will be next Bills’ head coach? Brian Daboll, Anthony Lynn, and Joe Brady are currently the leading candidates to become the next head coach of the Buffalo Bills. It’s important to note that high-profile names like John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski are off the market, having signed with the Giants and Falcons, respectively. Bills’ quest for a Super Bowl The Bills have never won a Super Bowl in their history and are ready to start a new chapter as they open their new stadium in 2026. The departure of Sean McDermott seems to send a clear message of a fresh start. Lynn won the Super Bowl twice as a player with Denver and, in his coaching career, has worked for teams including the Broncos, Jaguars, Cowboys, Browns, Jets, Bills, Chargers, Lions, 49ers, and Commanders. In 2016, he served as interim head coach in Buffalo after Rex Ryan was fired.

NY Mets answer NY Yankees’ bidding win for Cody Bellinger with veteran addition

NY Yankees pressured to help Cody Bellinger with move for another 2x All-Star
After reaching an agreement with Cody Bellinger, the New York Yankees have no time to relax. Instead, the competition for another two-time All-Star is only heating up in MLB. The New York Yankees have no time to rest on their laurels after re-signing Cody Bellinger ahead of the 2026 MLB season. For the Bronx Bombers, keeping the star outfielder in town was merely the standard. Now, the fanbase is asking—or rather demanding—the front office goes after another All-Star. As much joy as Bellinger’s return brings to the Bronx, the NY Yankees’ lineup for the 2026 MLB season still features glaring holes. Until those are filled, Hal Steinbrenner and the front office won’t be able to claim victory in the offseason. Based on the fans’ reaction all over social media, New York knows who its fanbase wants to see arrive next. “Cody Bellinger on a five-year deal is a win for the Yankees. Freddy Peralta must be next this offseason,” Yankees Unloaded show host Gary Sheffield Jr. wrote on his X account immediately after Bellinger re-signed in New York. Going after Peralta The Yankees have long been linked to Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Freddy Peralta. However, actually landing the two-time All-Star will be a far tougher task than some fans make it out to be. Freddy Peralta #51 of the Milwaukee Brewers. Peralta has drawn interest from several powerhouses in MLB. The biggest of them all being none other than the Los Angeles Dodgers. The back-to-back World Series champions are considered favorites to complete a trade for Peralta going into the 2026 MLB season. Losing Peralta to the Dodgers won’t hurt as bad as the 2024 World Series did, but it’d be another painful experience for New York, at the hands of Los Angeles. Peralta’s contract situation The 29-year-old pitcher is entering the final MLB season of his five-year, $15.5 extension with the Brewers. In 2026, he will earn $8 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent (UFA) at the end of the campaign. Thus, his situation presents a dilemma for interested teams. If time isn’t an issue, any team could wait for Peralta’s contract to run its course and pursue him once he hits the open market. However, Milwaukee will entertain offers in the meantime, and there’s no guarantee Peralta will make it to free agency. Market for Peralta The Brewers could re-sign Peralta or find a club desperate enough to give up assets for the veteran on a contract year. The Yankees could very well fall into that category. In need of help on the mound, the Pinstripers could make an appealing offer to the Brewers. As for the Dodgers, they have more than enough leverage to work a deal with Milwaukee, but given their success and tendency to go all-in on free agents, waiting until next offseason may be their preferred option. Moreover, Los Angeles has won back-to-back championships without Peralta, so another year without him is far from the end of the world.

Why is Lamine Yamal not playing today for Barcelona vs Slavia Praha in 2025-26 UEFA Champions League?
Barcelona take on Slavia Praha in Matchday 7 of the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League, where they will look to secure a victory without the services of star winger Lamine Yamal. As the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League league phase nears its conclusion, Barcelona travel to Fortuna Arena for a Matchday 7 clash with Slavia Praha, seeking a victory to bolster their hopes for direct qualification. However, they must do so without their standout star, the teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. Follow Slavia Praha vs Barcelona live with us! Yamal was not part of the Barcelona delegation that traveled to Prague, having been ruled out of the fixture due to a one-match suspension for yellow card accumulation. The forward did not board the plane with the rest of the squad, as he serves a mandatory ban that leaves him unavailable for this pivotal matchup. However, he will return for the final league phase match at home against Copenhagen. His absence is a significant blow to Hansi Flick’s offense, forcing the manager to reshuffle his attacking line to secure a win in Prague. With Yamal sidelined, Marcus Rashford and Swedish talent Roony Bardghji are the top candidates to fill the void, as they have done in previous outings. Roony Bardghji reacts during a game. (Getty Images) Barcelona face one more absence Yamal’s absence is not the only hurdle Flick must navigate for this fixture. Barcelona will also be without their leading scorer, as Ferran Torres is sidelined with a hamstring injury. Taken as a precautionary measure, his absence opens the door for Robert Lewandowski to return to the starting lineup as the primary striker. A lingering question for Barcelona was the availability of Pedri. The star midfielder took a heavy challenge from Carlos Soler during the club’s recent 2-1 loss to Real Sociedad and could be rested this evening. However, Flick offered an encouraging update during his pre-match press conference, noting that he spoke with the Spaniard: “I asked him after the match, and he said he was fine after Soler’s tough tackle”. Pedri is ultimately starting today. In a boost for the Blaugrana, Raphinha is also returning to the squad. The captain missed the Real Sociedad match due to a minor thigh injury, but Flick included the Brazilian in the lineup.

Video: Cristiano Ronaldo scores record-breaking goal for Al Nassr vs Damac, gets closer to 1,000 mark
Cristiano Ronaldo broke yet another record by scoring Al Nassr's second goal against Damac on Matchday 17 of the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League. Cristiano Ronaldo keeps on breaking records. By scoring against Damac on Wednesday, the Portuguese superstar surpassed Abderrazak Hamdallah as Al Nassr’s highest-scoring foreign player with 116 goals. At 40, and set to turn 41 in February, Ronaldo is showing no signs of slowing down. With today’s goal against Damac, the veteran striker reached 17 goals across all competitions for Al Nassr. On top of that, Ronaldo is currently leading the Saudi Pro League scoring charts in the 2025-26 campaign with 15 goals to his name, followed by Al Ahli’s Ivan Toney with 14. Cristiano Ronaldo reaches 960 career goals Beyond breaking Hamdallah’s record for the most goals scored by a foreign player for Al Nassr, Ronaldo’s strike against Damac also puts him closer to other significant milestones. ¡LLEGÓ EL 960! 🤩 Gol de Cristiano Ronaldo para ampliar la ventaja de su equipo. 🥳 #SPLenFOX pic.twitter.com/q7fhDg86o4— FOX Deportes (@FOXDeportes) January 21, 2026 CR7 now boasts 960 career goals. That’s right, he’s now only 40 goals away from reaching the 1,000 mark. In addition, Ronaldo needs only 10 more goals to reach 100 in the Saudi Pro League. Clearly, age is just a number for the Portuguese superstar, who continues to break records late in his career.
