I looked it up. He chairs Public Safety and is on the Transportion Committee. A bit of a bad look at this time. Once his legal matter is resolved he could be returned to those Committies. As for this year I would advocate reassignment.

But I thought you all wanted illegals roaming our cities. You said they are a net benefit to it. You protect them. You allow them out on no cash bonds. You spend tax dollars on them that could normally go to citizens and residents. Polis loves them! You have to take the bad with the good if you’re going to keep that stance. Sure, illegals kill people sometimes, but think how much more they add to our society.
