Mercato PSG : 80M€ !

Ross Chastain Admits NASCAR ‘Doesn’t Compare’ to IMSA’s Sports Car Racing Experience

Ross Chastain got the unique opportunity to be on-site at the ‘Roar Before the 24’ test sessions in Daytona over the weekend. He made a surprise appearance at the venue and toured Action Express Racing’s Whelen Cadillac set-up. Chastain, who was a guest of General Motors and Action Express Racing, made some interesting observations. He admitted that while he had seen the IMSA events from up close, getting to the pit box and watching the conversations first-hand was a different experience altogether. The Trackhouse Racing driver then pointed out how quickly the team and the racers are in terms of operations: A driver had been ready ahead of time after a red flag came out for a stalled car. Chastain said that he could take some cues from the speed with which they worked. “It was interesting to see the depth of the team and ask Connor [Zilisch], probably, some silly questions. But it’s just some stuff that I never learned,” elaborated Chastain. “It was just cool to learn about. We could be in this very pit stall for the Daytona 500 next month, and it doesn’t compare at all to this, which is good in our respective series,” he added. Zilisch, who will join Chastain in the Trackhouse Racing garage this season, drove on the track before the Rolex 24. The 19-year-old was also part of the official test session. Zilisch also made his GTP debut in a one-off drive with the Action Express Racing Whelen Cadillac V-Series.R. He relished the opportunity to teach his teammate the ropes of sports car racing. “It was cool to show Ross kind of where I came from, and he loves racing and just wants to see the different disciplines and see how teams do things differently from what we do at Trackhouse Racing,” said Zilisch. Of course, Chastain has seen this kind of setup already, and Zilisch is aware of that. But he underlined that things are a bit different in the IMSA and with Cadillac. The entire exchange left behind one question: Will Chastain become the next Cup Series star to be a part of the Rolex 24? He told RACER magazine that he is interested in participating if the right opportunity comes through in the future. Fans of the Melon Man will be happy to hear that from Chastain. But, for now, his attention remains on tackling the new Cup Series championship format and earning his maiden title. How Kyle Larson’s Chili Bowl Wreck Opened the Door for Emerson Axsom’s Breakthrough Win

Emerson Axsom came out of Tulsa as the latest champion of the Chili Bowl Nationals on Saturday. The youngster proved his merit against some of the most elite drivers in the country, among whom was defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson. However, he did have his share of misfortune that helped Axsom grab the win. Larson, also the defending Chili Bowl champion, needed no lessons on how to win the race. He secured pole and won the A-Mains feature, positioning himself as a strong favorite to win the title throughout the week. In the finale, he lined up on the pole, outside Axsom, went on to lead the first three laps, before Axsom grabbed that position from him on the fourth. The youngster told the press later, “I told myself that I’m not going to race him like he’s Kyle Larson. I feel like a lot of guys, including the national-level guys I race against every week, see Kyle, and they almost back down. “If it were anyone else, they’d have raced harder.” Axsom’s mindset paid off, and he kept the Cup Series superstar for the subsequent laps. On Lap 16, Larson made contact with a slow car down the backstretch and flipped his own. This accident eliminated him from the race and removed a big threat to Axsom’s neck. He went on to battle against other foes and ultimately came out on top. In his post-race interview, Axsom spoke about how his thought process changed from when Larson was in contention and when he wasn’t. “He’s a very smart racer,” he said. “He would have been waiting for me to mess up. Once I saw him wreck, I felt like he was the only guy who had a shot against me early. “When I was watching the screen, he seemed to be really close. It was like a little bit of weight off my shoulders. I didn’t have to be stressed about being perfect every lap.” Emerson Axsom scored his first #ChiliBowl win tonight and had to run hard against Kyle Larson early on. “(Larson)’s 90 percent is my 110 percent.” pic.twitter.com/okDMoa9WFz — Christopher DeHarde (@CDeHarde) January 18, 2026 Axsom believes that Larson’s 90% is his 110%. To have such a strong contender out of the mix truly worked in his favor. He went on to state that the playing field was a lot more level with Larson out. Just as the rest of the world, Axsom isn’t yet able to believe the magnitude of his achievement. Larson, too, expressed how impressed he had been with the youngster’s race craft. Kyle Larson Hopes NASCAR Weekend in Vegas Leads to Fan Spillover at High Limit Clash

The Kyle Larson co-owned High Limit Racing Series, which has grown since its inception in 2023, is set to host 66 races across 33 tracks this season. The journey begins with the season-opening Blackjack Bash at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March. High Limit Racing’s maiden race of the year will be held from March 12-14 at the dirt track in the Las Vegas Motor Speedway compound. This coincides with the dates of NASCAR’s Cup Series and O’Reilly Auto Parts Series races. On March 14, the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series will hold The LiUNA! The next day, on March 15, the Cup Series will hold the Pennzoil 400. That’s a good enough reason for Larson to be optimistic about a grand start to High Limit Racing’s season. Larson believes that the audience turnout to watch NASCAR’s best will influence the turnout for the Blackjack Bash positively. “Just getting the season kicked off in Vegas is always exciting. Three nights at a venue and destination that everybody wants to go to and have a good time. The racing was really good there last year,” the 2025 Cup Series champ told FloRacing last week. “So, yeah. I think it’s great that we get to be there on a NASCAR weekend as well. I think, hopefully, there’s going to be a lot of fans who come across the street. Maybe, for those who have not watched a sprint car race, it could spark an interest and become a lifelong fan,” added Larson. Stock car racing fans may end up filling up the stands for Larson’s series. As the Hendrick Motorsports ace put it, fans love visiting Vegas and often spend more than just race day in the city. The High Limit event would be a great way for them to get into the mood for the Pennzoil 400. High Limit Racing’s growth has been tremendous, driven by heavy investment from Larson and one of its co-founders, Brad Sweet. They have created a sustainable business model that focuses on large payouts for participants and good national TV coverage. The expanding schedule and international diversification have added to the clout as well. It is positioning itself as the go-to force in sprint car racing by attracting top talent and offering them stability and big purses. 2026 will be another major step in its journey as a professional racing series.
