Falcons show signs of life against the Saints in Week 12 snap reaction

Falcons stomp hapless Saints 24-10 in Week 12
The Atlanta Falcons had lost five in a row and lost several key contributors. They needed a get-right game, even if the season has essentially slipped away, and got one against their most hated rival. Forget the big picture: That was nice to see. Kirk Cousins did pretty well, the Falcons got enough on the ground to ensure the win, and the defense made plays when they needed to in order to frequently stall long, annoying Saints drives. As bad as the Saints are—and make no mistake, they’re really bad—beating New Orleans is always welcome, and this one was arguably even more lopsided than the score indicated. The Saints’ only touchdown, after all, came on a pick-six that doinked off of Kyle Pitts’ hands and into the waiting hands of safety Justin Reid; otherwise the defense bent a little but did not break against New Orleans. The return of Divine Deablo, Dee Alford having a strong game, and James Pearce Jr. continuing to grow all contributed to the win, and with the Jets next, the Falcons have a chance to build on the effort and try to find their footing defensively for tougher matchups down the stretch. All that is ahead, though. For one Sunday, it was nice to watch the Falcons win a game, especially humiliating a woeful Saints team that’s as easy as ever to root against, and to see the defense rolling once more after they started the year so strong. With no expectations, let’s see where they take it next. Here’s the drive-by-drive breakdown of the game you just watched. 1st Quarter The Falcons got it first, and a Bijan Robinson toss went for a couple of yards. Bijan kicked it out side and picked up just a yard. Kirk Cousins tried Kyle Pitts over the middle, but he was hit as he reeled it in and couldn’t come up with it. Punt, and the Saints brought it back about 10 yards. Alvin Kamara got a couple of yards before Dee Alford got him. Kamara them fumbled and Alford found it immediately, scooping it up and getting Atlanta the ball back. Two straight Bijan carries went for about six yards. Cousins then sat in the pocket looking for an open man and was sacked. Zane Gonzalez hit the longish field goal easily to make it 3-0 Falcons. The return went for 75 yards after the Falcons were blocked out of the play; Zane Gonzalez managed to slow down the returner enough for the cavalry to arrive. A.J. Terrell then turned Taysom Hill’s carry into zero yards. A screen to Kamara didn’t go far before Xavier Watts got him. Blake Grupe then missed the easy field goal try, and the Falcons had the ball back. Darnell Mooney made a nice grab with Cousins managing to launch it under pressure. Robinson picked up a couple of yards. David Sills then reeled in a seven yard catch. On third down, Teagan Quitoriano committed a false start, backing Atlanta up. Elijah Wilkinson then had another false start. Wilkinson then fell on the ball after Cameron Jordan knocked the ball out of Cousins’ hands. A long punt from Bradley Pinion and some nice coverage work this time had Dante Pettis inside the 20, and the Saints were further backed up by a penalty. Kamara was tackled after four yards by Divine Deablo, and Kamara then got five yards. A direct snap to Hill went for a yard and a first down. Shough then hit Chris Olave for a first down. A quick pass to Olave went for a few yards, but a holding call brought it back. A quick pass to Kamara went for two yards before Kaden Elliss got him. A quick pass to Mason Tipton went for seven yards. Shough ran away from pressure and threw one to a diving Juwan Johnson, who picked up eight yards. Punt, and the Falcons back it back inside the 25. Cousins had time and floated one up to Kyle Pitts, who caught it in stride for 23 yards. 2nd Quarter Bijan went for five yards on a first down. Cousins tried Pitts downfield against on play action, and he couldn’t hold on to it. Cousins then got Mooney on a sideline ball for a first down. Tyler Allgeier got a couple of yards. A screen to Robinson went for 32 yards. A Bijan carry then lost…

Atlanta Falcons NFL Power Rankings 2025: Welcome back to the basement
The playoff picture is getting clearer, the NFL draft order is forming, the final stretch of the 2025 NFL season is upon us, and it is shaping up to be a good one. Last week, we had a new team at the top of the rankings, the sixth newcomer this season, no movement at the bottom of the barrel, including the woeful Atlanta Falcons, and a few teams that were thought to be out of the playoff race emerged as potential playoff contenders, including a dangerous-looking San Francisco 49ers team. With the Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, and Washington Commanders on a well-needed, late-season bye, let’s get into the new power rankings: 1) Los Angeles Rams (8-2) (+1) Welcome to the top of the power rankings, Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. From a bad back for Matthew Stafford to forcing four back-breaking interceptions to secure the dub on Sunday, this Rams team has shown they are possibly the most complete team in the NFL, with the MVP front-runner in Stafford leading the charge. 2) Seattle Seahawks (7-3) (-1) How far can the Seahawks really fall after that game last week? I mean, sure, Sam Darnold turned into a bit of a pumpkin, but this defense is phenomenal and is set up to help Seattle make a deep playoff run come January. 3) Buffalo Bills (7-3) (+2) MVP Josh Allen is back, and he carried the Bills to their 15th game with 40 or more points scored in the Allen era, 2nd only to the Dak Prescott-led Cowboys. Allen also continues to prove he is the ultimate weapon at QB, becoming the only player with 3 passing and rushing touchdowns in a single game. 4) Indianapolis Colts (8-2) (even) Nice rest week for the Colts as they look for a statement win against the bully on the blocks in Kansas City. 5) Detroit Lions (6-4) (-2) Nasty loss to the Eagles, but I still think the Lions are one of the more complete builds in the NFL. A statement against a bottom-dwelling New York Giants team should do wonders in keeping the Lions in top five talks. 6) Denver Broncos (9-2) (even) This is a team that drags you down to the sewer with them to fight. So, having Bo Nix make more than enough plays against a tough Kansas City defense should give Denver fans plenty to smile about. 7) Green Bay Packers (6-3-1) (+1) Though they messed up the Winston 2025 debut, the Packers did find a way to win against the Giants and continue their fight at the top of the NFC North. 8) New England Patriots (9-2) (+1) The Drake Maye hype train is on and chugging as New England continues to shock the world atop the AFC East. Next? Cincinnati. 9) Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) (+3) The vibes are still low, but the talent level on this team is still too high to ignore. Philadelphia is atop the NFC East easily and has plenty of room to smooth out the wrinkles like they did last year. 10) Kansas City Chiefs (5-5) (-3) We’ve reached unprecedented times in the Patrick Mahomes era of the Kansas City Chiefs. They’re threatening to be under .500 and potentially missing the playoffs. All they have to do to avoid all of this is beat one of the most explosive offenses of the season right now in the Colts. 11) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4) (even) The lead for the NFC South is starting to get smaller by the week, and the schedule isn’t getting any easier with the potentially best team in the league, the Los Angeles Rams, hosting next week on primetime. 12) Baltimore Ravens (5-5) (+1) Since Lamar Jackson has returned, the Ravens have that spark that made them the favorite in this division from the start. Mix in the fact the Steelers refuse to take off with the lead they have and the Ravens are the favorites to take off with this division. 13) San Francisco 49ers (7-4) (+1) The 49ers are starting to look like their old selves again with Brock Purdy. The offense is looking without holes, and the defense is doing enough with all the injuries on that side. 14) Los Angeles Chargers (7-4) (-4) Listen, will they probably make the playoffs? Probably. But you can’t lose by 29…

Hell Nah! Pregnant Chicago Woman Sent Away From Indiana Hospital During Labor, Gave Birth Roadside 8 Minutes Later
Source: PuiStocker65 / Getty A horrifying story coming out of Crown Point, Ind., has gone viral online and been met with disgust, outrage, and anger for how a pregnant Black woman was treated by shockingly incompetent hospital staff. According to ABC 7 Chicago, 38-year-old Mercedes Wells was forced to leave Franciscan Health hospital after six hours of enduring agonizing labor pains. When her contractions were just one minute apart, a nurse at the facility forced her to leave. “I was in excruciating pain. She seen me in pain and agony, and I guess she still perceived me to not be in labor,” Mercedes said. “Upon returning to the room she’s like, ‘Well, if you aren’t further along in your centimeters then, you know, we gotta send you home”” Just eight minutes later, on the side of the road, Wells and her husband Leon delivered their daughter, Alena Wells, with no medical equipment, no medicine, no safety apparatus, and no medical staff. As a proud mother of three other children, Mercedes says this experience was deeply disturbing… “I was stripped of my dignity. As a person, I was treated less than an animal,” Mercedes said. Sadly, this is an all too common occurrence where Black women are not believed by doctors and medical practitioners when they complain of pain or try to communicate what they are feeling in their bodies. In response to this story, social media users recounted a similar incident that Serena Williams previously revealed about her experience giving birth. The complications that the tennis GOAT was experiencing fell on deaf ears and she damn-near died because medical staff would not take her concerns seriously. According to ABC News, Franciscan Health Crown Point President and CEO Raymond Grady released a statement regarding Wells’ harrowing experience at his hospital. “We are grateful to learn from online and media reports that both mother and child are reportedly doing well,” Grady said. “We understand the concern this has raised. The video is just one part of the information we are reviewing as part of a thorough investigation into this alleged incident.” He added, “While patient privacy laws make it difficult for us to comment more deeply, it is important to note that the videos and the narrative surrounding them do not accurately represent Franciscan Health Crown Point’s Catholic healthcare ministry’s values, which include respect for life, compassionate concern and Christian stewardship. Our goal is to make everyone who walks through our doors feel the love of Christ through our actions.” Kicking out a pregnant woman who is clearly in pain isn’t very Christ-like. Wells and her husband say that they are not considering a lawsuit, but they do want to meet with the administration to ensure that other women never have this happen to them. The post Hell Nah! Chadwick Boseman Honored With A Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Widow Simone Boseman Brings A Sweetly Sentimental Piece Of Him To The Ceremony
Chadwick Boseman’s legacy lives on in so many ways, and now, that includes a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Just days ahead of what would have been Boseman’s 49th birthday, the Black Panther star was posthumously awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This honor comes five years after he passed away at age 43 following a private battle with colon cancer. All of the people closest to the actor were in attendance at the ceremony, including his wife Simone Ledward-Boseman, who brought a piece of her late husband to the unveiling ceremony. During the event on Nov. 20, Simone placed a pair of Chadwick’s shoes on his star so that he could “step” on the memorial alongside her and his brothers, Derrick Boseman and Kevin Boseman. The family also brought a framed picture of the late actor. Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty Chadwick’s Black Panther costars Michael B. Jordan and Letitia Wright attended the ceremony, while the Marvel movie’s director Ryan Coogler and Boseman’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom costar Viola Davis spoke at the podium. Davis stepped up to speak first, opening up about how much of Boseman’s energy still lives on with her. “I have to believe that Chadwick is still alive. I can’t use the word gone or death, really,” Davis began, per Entertainment Weekly. “When thinking about him, it’s like the quote, ‘When the last person who has a memory of you [dies] that’s when you’ll truly be dead.'” She went on to praise Boseman for making art that “reminded us that we are less alone.” “I thank him for what he left behind in me, which is a burning amber that always guides me to a higher meaning of my work and my purpose,” Davis said. “This star, as beautiful as it is on the Walk of Fame, shines a whole lot less brighter than Chadwick does in heaven.” Source: Matt Winkelmeyer / Getty The actress was followed by Coogler, who emotionally recounted the evolution of his relationship with Chadwick over the years. “Chad felt thousands of years old. He was that calm and that wise,” Coogler said per EW of meeting the actor. “It was a very unnerving feeling to be around. Our first time together, we were completely alone. He somehow snuck into a hotel room I was in during a massive press tour for Creed. It was crawling with press, but he got by all of them for us to have a one-on-one meeting to talk about working together on Black Panther.” The director said when he asked Boseman how he pulled it off, the actor smiled and said, “That was the Panther.” Source: JC Olivera / Getty Simone—who privately tied the knot with Chadwick months before his death—also spoke to the crowd, speaking on the legacy her husband left behind. “Chad was more than an actor or even an artist,” she began “He was a spiritual teacher fortified by family; close friends that kept him grounded in faith; a team that believed in him, protected him and fought for him; colleagues that trusted his vision, that lifted him up and forged a real brotherhood. You have no idea how pivotal those moments were. Thank you.” Ledward-Boseman continued, “Chad taught all of us a great deal. His heart was so vast he could give each and every person a specific part of him and still have so much left to share with the world.” Source: UNIQUE NICOLE / Getty As she reflected on his “lifetime of artistry,” Simone went on to address Chadwick directly, saying she still feels his presence every day. “We recognize your skill and your devotion, and we submit your legacy as a hero and an icon,” she said. “You lived with honor and you walked in truth. You are as brilliant as you were beautiful and as courageous as you were kind. We love you. We miss you. We thank you.” Watch the ceremony, in full, down below: The post Chadwick Boseman Honored With A Star On The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Widow Simone Boseman Brings A Sweetly Sentimental Piece Of Him To The Ceremony appeared first on Bossip.

Wendy & Eddie Osefo Blast Prosecutors For ‘Fishing Expedition,’ Say ‘Eddie Hennessy’ & ‘Pam Oliver’ Aliases Weren’t Used For Financial Transactions
Real Housewives of Potomac stars Wendy and Eddie Osefo are maintaining their innocence amid their fraud charges, accusing law enforcement and prosecutors of mishandling the case and tainting public opinion through “false and misleading” disclosures. Source: Bravo On Thursday, the Baltimore Banner reported that Carroll County, Md., prosecutors are pushing for additional financial records they say will reveal a “pattern of excessive spending and deceptive practices.” According to the new court filings obtained by the Banner, prosecutors allege that the couple maintained approximately 40 credit and debit cards, several of which were tied to company names, and that they used the aliases “Pam Oliver” and “Eddie Hennessy” to mask their identities during financial transactions. They also accuse Wendy Osefo of falsely denying the use of PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App to purchase jewelry. Prosecutors argue that the additional records could reveal “purchases as well as returns” that mirror the couple’s alleged attempts to stage an April 2024 burglary at their Finksburg, Md., home, a break-in from which they reported $450,000 worth of designer handbags and jewelry stolen while vacationing in Jamaica. As previously reported, authorities alleged that many of the items claimed as stolen had been previously returned for refunds. “The State expects such documentation to show a pattern of excessive spending, supporting motive in this case,” the Banner reports prosecutors wrote, adding that the Osefos were “burdened by substantial debt,” which they argue is relevant in a financial-crime investigation. Wendy & Eddie Osefo Deny Using Aliases For Financial Transactions, Accuse Authorities & Prosecutors Of Mishandling Case The Batlimore Banner reports that attorneys for the couple hav called the subpoenas a “fishing expedition.” Eddie Osefo’s lawyer, Joseph Murtha, also criticized the filings as “overly broad” and questioned the timing, stating prosecutors are “looking for something they haven’t figured out after 18 months of investigating.” Source: Bravo Defense attorneys for Wendy Osefo—Murtha, Jeremy Eldridge, and Clarissa Lindsey—also issued a statement; one that Wendy reposted on Instagram. In it, they argue that police “failed to properly investigate the initial burglary despite clear indications of a break-in” and accused authorities of displaying bias against the family. According to the attorneys, law enforcement mishandled the very incident at the center of the charges, the reported April 2024 burglary at the couple’s Finksburg home. The defense argues that police “failed to properly investigate the initial burglary despite clear indications of a break-in, displaying clear bias against the Osefo family,” adding that officers went silent for more than 18 months “despite complete cooperation and requests for updates.” They also pointed out that other Real Housewives stars have been burglarized after posting about travel on social media, yet “none faced this level of scrutiny or criminal charges.” The couple’s attorneys further criticized prosecutors for making the family’s private financial information public, calling the disclosures “deeply unjust” and accusing the State’s Attorney’s Office of advancing a “false narrative” while still actively investigating the case. They argued that the State’s decision to begin a deeper probe only after indicting the couple was “highly irregular” and one that “raises serious concerns about motive and fairness,” saying the leaks “serve no lawful purpose and only invite conclusory opinions.” The defense also addressed the “Pam Oliver” and “Eddie Hennessy” aliases that the prosecution alleges were used to conceal financial activity. Their attorneys called the claim “false and misleading,” and explained that the aliases were used for safety. “Such names were used for the delivery of packages, following their lawful purchase, to safeguard the identity of very public figures,” said the attorneys. They…
