Donald Trump Says Rep. Ilhan Omar Should Go Back to ‘Somalia’
Photo Credit: Tom Williams/CQ-Roll Call, Inc via Getty Images US President Donald Trump has once again targeted Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, claiming she should be imprisoned or sent out of the United States. The remarks come amid rising tensions in Minnesota following increased federal law enforcement activity. Donald Trump calls out Rep. Ilhan Omar Donald Trump made the comments on January 18, using Truth Social to accuse Rep. Ilhan Omar of being linked to alleged large-scale fraud involving Minnesota’s Somali community. In his post, Trump claimed, “There is 19 Billion Dollars in Minnesota Somalia Fraud. Fake ‘Congresswoman’ Illhan Omar, a constant complainer who hates the USA, knows everything there is to know.” He went on to add, “She should be in jail, or even a worse punishment, sent back to Somalia, considered one of the absolutely worst countries in the World. She could help to MAKE SOMALIA GREAT AGAIN!” The statement represents the latest public insult Trump has directed at Omar following years of verbal attacks. Omar, a U.S. citizen since 2000, was born in Mogadishu, Somalia. Her family arrived in the United States as asylum seekers in 1995, before settling in Minneapolis. She made history in 2019 as the first Somali American elected to Congress and the first woman of color to represent Minnesota in the House. Following Trump’s latest Truth Social post, Omar did not issue a direct response. Instead, she celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by sharing a quote from the late civil rights leader on X. It read, “‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’” Omar added that she was reflecting on the quote amid “deep injustice.” “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”I’m thinking of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s words today as we see the immense love our community has for one another, especially in this time of deep injustice.— Rep. Ilhan Omar (@Ilhan) January 19, 2026 Donald Trump slamming Rep. Ilhan Omar comes as the administration has cited fraud allegations as justification for sending federal law enforcement to Minnesota, which has the largest Somali population in the United States. This increased presence has resulted in confrontations between civilians and agents, including two shootings in Minneapolis this month. One incident led to the death of Renee Nicole Good. Nick Jonas & Wife Using Time Apart as ‘Asset’ in Relationship — Source
Photo Credit: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images Nick Jonas‘ wife is spilling tea about their marriage, and this time it is about distance. “We prioritize each other in everything that we do,” The Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra once said about making marriage work with the singer. The couple has spent years juggling long shoots, tours, and press runs across different continents. Still, the “Jonas Brothers” singer and the “Citadel” star appear to treat packed schedules as part of the plan. And according to a new insider update, that time apart is not hurting them. Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra using ‘workaholic tendencies’ as marriage strengths, per source View this post on Instagram According to Star Magazine, a friend close to the pair says their career drive is actually helping. “Nick and Pri have taken their respective workaholic tendencies and somehow made them into their marriage’s biggest strengths,” the source claimed. The insider also pointed out how similar their personalities are day to day. “Yes, family is incredibly important to them,” the source said. “But they also both love to be on the move, love to be planning their next project.” They added that both stars “thrive with full schedules.” That idea matches what P.C has said publicly about their rules. On InStyle’s “Ladies First” podcast in 2021, she explained, “We know each other’s hearts and we prioritize each other in everything that we do.” At the same time, she stressed balance, adding they are “always partners and assets.” The source claimed the actress is comfortable traveling solo for work. They said she “has never been afraid to hop on a plane” for a meeting or role. They added she “doesn’t need somebody to hold her hand” on long flights. According to the same insider, that independence is part of what he admires. Meanwhile, the friend described him as intensely hands-on with his career plans. “Nick is all about putting in the time” to build each Jonas Brothers venture, the source said. They called him the “undisputed mastermind of his success.” Even with the miles, the insider framed the dynamic as rare but steady. “They really make all the time apart they have from one another into an asset in their relationship,” the source added. Most recently, Chopra has been linked to action work, including “Heads of State.” Meanwhile, he has kept busy with music projects, tours, and band commitments while raising their daughter, Malti Marie.
