Comment on How Catholic Charities San Diego Transformed into a $80M Refugee Powerhouse on a Tide of Federal Dollars by Protect Freedom
Jewish Family Service of San Diego is in the same boat. Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFSSD) operates the San Diego Rapid Response Network (SDRRN) Migrant Shelter Services, which provides temporary shelter, food, medical screenings, legal counsel, travel assistance, and clothing to asylum-seeking families and individuals. Since its inception in late October 2018, the program has assisted over 248,000 individuals seeking asylum. FS also continues to offer free and low-cost legal services through its Immigration Legal Services Department, including assistance with adjustment of status, asylum applications, family-based petitions, and naturalization. The organization is a key partner in the Immigration Legal Services Coalition of San Diego, which expands access to legal aid for detained non-citizens and those at risk of detention. Additionally, JFS has received significant federal funding, including $22 million in Shelter and Services Program funding in 2024. These groups are aiding in the destruction of the country.
