Democrats on the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday released a collection images and video clips showing what they say is a private Caribbean island owned by the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The more than 150 photos and videos of Epstein’s island show the compound’s exterior structures, as well as interiors, including a pool area, and several bedrooms and bathrooms. One photo shows a corded phone with labels that appear to be redacted names. Another photo released by the House Democrats features a library with a large desk and blackboard, with the words “power,” “truth,” “music,” “deception,” “intellectual,” and “political,” written on it, among other redacted words. Epstein owned two islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands, including the 70-acre Little St. James, which he purchased in 1998 for $7.95 million and where he built a sprawling estate. The second he owned was Great Saint James, which he purchased in 2016. Epstein has been accused of sexually abusing teenage girls at the islands. It is unclear which of the two islands the images released Wednesday show. Morgan and Deutsche Bank, which it intend to release to the public after a review. A spokesperson for House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday night. Trump signed that bill into law on Nov. 19. Congress is waiting for the Justice Department to release the files which it is required to do within 30 days of Trump’s signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Lawmakers have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi for a briefing and status update by the end of the week.

A crash involving a semi-truck and three vehicles on the Tri-State Tollway forced a closure of all northbound lanes near O’Hare Airport Wednesday evening, state police said. Around 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, three passenger vehicles and a semi-truck crashed on I-294 near Balmoral Avenue in Rosemont, Illinois State Police said. As of 8:30 p.m., all lanes on northbound I-294 were blocked, ISP said, with traffic getting by “slowly” on the left shoulder. The Irving Park Road ramp to I-294 north was also shut down. Extended lane closures are expected, ISP said. Delays of up to an hour were expected as of 8:30 p.m., according to Total Traffic. No additional information was immediately available.
