Ex-Patriot Backs Drake Maye To Win Super Bowl Before Josh Allen
The New England Patriots secured their eighth consecutive victory by defeating the New York Jets 27-14 on Thursday. One key factor behind New England’s success over the past eight weeks has been the exceptional performance of quarterback Drake Maye. At just 23 years old and in only his second NFL season, Maye has caught the attention of many, including former Patriots linebacker and current Boston radio host Ted Johnson, who believes that Maye is likely to win a Super Bowl before Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen does. “Drake Maye,” Johnson said Friday when asked who will win a Super Bowl first between Allen and Maye on “WEEI Afternoons”. “I’m at that point I’ve always really loved his game, and now that the winning is coming.” Allen is in his eighth NFL season and has come so close to reaching the Super Bowl on several occasions, but he has consistently fallen short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason. Currently, the Patriots hold the best record in the AFC East, placing them ahead of the Bills. If New England can keep winning games, there’s a good chance it will secure the division title and earn home-field advantage in the playoffs. This could set the Patriots up nicely for a successful postseason run, which could help Maye reach the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see who wins a Super Bowl first: Maye or Allen. There’s also the possibility that neither of them does, but with the youthful roster of the Patriots, they could continue to improve and set themselves up for a shot at the Super Bowl in the next few years. Bill Belichick Puts Giants Coaching Speculation To Rest
The New York Giants parted ways with head coach Brian Daboll on Monday, sparking speculation that former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick could be a fit for the job. However, Belichick put to rest any speculation about his interest in the Giants’ job or any other NFL head coaching position with a statement he released on Friday night. “I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families,” Belichick said. “The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies. “Since arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC Football program has not wavered. We have tremendous support from the university, our alumni, and the entire Carolina community. My focus remains solely on continuing to improve this team, develop our players, and build a program that makes Tar Heel fans proud.” Bill Belichick has “not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies.”His statement: “I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families. One reason there was speculation about Belichick potentially landing the Giants’ head coaching job was his history with the team, having served as an assistant coach from 1979 to 1990. During that time, he held several defensive roles, most notably as New York’s defensive coordinator from 1985 to 1990. Given that Belichick is likely to remain in college unless something changes, he may never step foot on an NFL sideline again.
