The Kentucky Wildcats volleyball team completed another perfect conference season with a 3-0 sweep of Arkansas on Sunday, earning the program the outright SEC regular-season championship. It was also Senior Day for Eva Hudson, who never failed to win an SEC title during her time in Lexington and will go down as a UK legend. The title is the ninth-straight championship for Kentucky volleyball, marking the current longest consecutive championship streak in a Power Four volleyball conference. The Cats entered the day having already clinched at least a share of the championship. Kentucky concludes its regular season with a 22-2 overall record and a 15-0 SEC mark. The Wildcats will be the No. 1 overall seed in the 2025 SEC Tournament, which begins Friday in Savannah, Georgia. They get a double bye into the quarterfinal round and will play their first match Sunday at 12 PM ET against the No. 8 seed, No. 9 seed, or No. 16 seed, depending on who advances in the first and second rounds. The match will air on the SEC Network. Here’s to hoping we’re in for another special postseason of Kentucky Wildcats volleyball.

The Kentucky Wildcats are now 5-5 after yesterday’s win over Tennessee Tech on Senior Day. Yes, it was an FCS team, but the Cats came out and took care of business against the team in front of them, and didn’t let a good FCS team hang around. Instead, the Cats led 28-0 at halftime and were able to come away with a dominant win. This from Chris Fisher has a lot of truth in it. These are the types of games against lesser opponents where Kentucky has been very low energy in recent years. Even with a sparse Senior Day crowd, that was not the case today. Both of those games will be a challenge. Vanderbilt is 8-2 this season and coming off a bye week. However, Auburn came into Nashville about a week ago and scored 38 points, taking the ‘Dores to overtime before coming up short. Then, of course, the Cats will wrap up their season with a game against Louisville. After starting 7-1, the Cards have lost back-to-back home games against unranked opponents, which has pushed them out of the ACC race. They’ll certainly be motivated when the Wildcats come to town though. The last two games will be challenging, but the last three games have set up for an interesting to the season. Lowe re-injured his shoulder in practice last week, and now we wait to see what the recovery period looks like. There have been multiple reports that surgery is a possible option, but it would likely be season-ending. There are some other options on the table, but it will ultimately be up to Jaland and his family to make what they feel like is the best decision. Who knows when we will hear something for certain, but this is definitely a story we are continuing to follow. Three weeks ago, this Kentucky football team looked like it was just trying to get to the end of the regular season. Four straight losses, no wins in SEC play, and inconsistencies in playing complementary football. Now, the Wildcats have won three straight games and are one win away from bowl eligibility. They’ve beaten Auburn, Florida, and Tennessee Tech to get to 5-5 and set up what could be a fun final two weeks in terms of the opponents and what’s at stake. Not to mention, Tennessee Tech was 10-0 entering Saturday. Give Mark Stoops and this team credit. With all the animosity and negativity surrounding this program, they have valiantly fought back to the precipice of clinching bowl eligibility. Next week, the Wildcats are at Vanderbilt. The game is at 3:30 PM ET and will be televised on either ABC, ESPN, or ESPN2. Saturday, November 29th, the Wildcats are at the Louisville Cardinals. Time and network are to be determined. Vanderbilt, led by quarterback Diego Pavia, is 8-2 on the season and 5-2 in the SEC. Louisville is 7-3 and 4-3 in the SEC, but has lost back-to-back home games against California and Clemson. The Cardinals are at SMU this coming Saturday.
