Ex-Patriot Backs Drake Maye To Win Super Bowl Before Josh Allen
The New England Patriots secured their eighth consecutive victory by defeating the New York Jets 27-14 on Thursday. One key factor behind New England’s success over the past eight weeks has been the exceptional performance of quarterback Drake Maye. At just 23 years old and in only his second NFL season, Maye has caught the attention of many, including former Patriots linebacker and current Boston radio host Ted Johnson, who believes that Maye is likely to win a Super Bowl before Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen does. “Drake Maye,” Johnson said Friday when asked who will win a Super Bowl first between Allen and Maye on “WEEI Afternoons”. “I’m at that point I’ve always really loved his game, and now that the winning is coming.” Allen is in his eighth NFL season and has come so close to reaching the Super Bowl on several occasions, but he has consistently fallen short against the Kansas City Chiefs in the postseason. Currently, the Patriots hold the best record in the AFC East, placing them ahead of the Bills. If New England can keep winning games, there’s a good chance it will secure the division title and earn home-field advantage in the playoffs. This could set the Patriots up nicely for a successful postseason run, which could help Maye reach the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see who wins a Super Bowl first: Maye or Allen. There’s also the possibility that neither of them does, but with the youthful roster of the Patriots, they could continue to improve and set themselves up for a shot at the Super Bowl in the next few years. Red Sox Legend Pedro Martinez Taunts Yankees At MLB Awards Show
Pedro Martinez used the stage at Thursday’s MLB Awards Show to mock the New York Yankees. Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. won the inaugural award for Entertainer of the Year. Accepting on his godson’s behalf at Las Vegas, Martinez made the moment entertaining for most fans outside the Big Apple. The Boston Red Sox icon ended his speech by doing his best impression of former teammate David Ortiz. “Daaaaaaa Yankees lose,” Martinez bellowed, as shared by MLB. Ohhhh, Yankees lose! Yeah!” Martinez said as he pointed to the audience. Guerrero will likely approve of Martinez’s antics. The All-Star delivered the same taunt with Ortiz while conducting a Fox Sports interview amid a locker room celebration after the Blue Jays eliminated the Yankees in the American League Division Series. Meanwhile, Martinez transferred an old title that once haunted him when labeling Guerrero the Yankees’ new daddy. The 26-year-old went 9-for-17 with two home runs and nine RBIs during a dominant four-game series. Of course, Yankees fans will probably remind Martinez that the Red Sox first lost to the Bronx Bombers in the American League Wild Card Series. Boston missed two opportunities to advance beyond the best-of-three round after winning Game 1 behind a gem from Garrett Crochet. NFL Star Makes Bold Take On TreVeyon Henderson’s Future
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson made a strong impression over the past four games. His former college teammate, New Orleans Saints receiver Chris Olave, believes that Henderson is on track for a bright future in the NFL. “Henderson is going to tear the NFL up,” Olave said on Friday during “Up & Adams”. Olave and Henderson played together at Ohio State in 2021, with Olave being a senior and Henderson a freshman. However, Henderson wasn’t your typical college freshman, as he made an impact by appearing in 13 games, rushing for 1,248 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns. Henderson successfully translated his college performance into an NFL career. During “Thursday Night Football” against the New York Jets, he carried the ball 19 times for 62 yards and scored two touchdowns, while also catching a touchdown pass. The 23-year-old running back is making New England’s offense difficult to stop, especially with quarterback Drake Maye’s impressive performance. New England needed to bolster its running game, and Henderson appears to be the player who could step up as the starting running back, potentially igniting a deep playoff run this season.
