Red Sox Fans Horrified As Insider Suggests Blue Jays-Alex Bregman Union

Boston Red Sox fans are heady enough to realize that an Alex Bregman return is not guaranteed. Such is the unpredictable nature of free agency, and Bregman has plenty of suitors, not excluding a Detroit Tigers franchise that has coveted him for years. And while the most even-keeled Sox supporters are well-prepared for Bregman to join another club, even if it would be surprising, one thing that absolutely no Red Sox fan on Earth could bear to witness is Bregman joining the Toronto Blue Jays. That’s what made MLB insider Jim Bowden’s new piece for The Athletic so disturbing. “There are several contending teams that Bregman would be a difference-maker for if he signs with any of them, including the Tigers, Phillies, Mariners, Yankees, Mets and Blue Jays, as well as non-contending teams like the Angels and Pirates,” Bowden wrote on Wednesday. “His free agency is going to be must-watch during the Winter Meetings.” Day 6 of waiting for the Red Sox to sign Alex Bregman pic.twitter.com/khbFgoZCR2— Payton Tolle Enthusiast (@TolleEnthusiast) December 3, 2025 Was Bowden merely poking Boston’s fan base with this Blue Jays mention, or is there real and sturdy information out there suggesting that a Bregman-Jays marriage is in the cards? Either way, this would be a gut-punch beyond imagination for the Red Sox and their fan base, so it’s healthiest to assume Bowden merely tossed Toronto in there to stir up emotions. Jaylen Brown On Pace To Rewrite Celtics’ Record Books After 42-Point Outburst

The Boston Celtics picked up a hard-fought 123-117 victory over the New York Knicks on Tuesday night, and per usual, superstar forward Jaylen Brown was leading the charge for the C’s, as he poured in 42 points to help lead his team to its 12th win of the season. With Jayson Tatum sidelined as he continues to recover from a torn Achilles tendon, Brown has stepped up and taken on a bigger role on offense for the…

Boston struggled out of the gates, as the Bruins were down 2-0 after the first period, and 3-0 just 95 seconds into the second period. Bruins’ head coach Marco Sturm admits he was frustrated with the team’s start, especially after beating the Red Wings on Saturday. “We knew they were going to come out hard, especially with the way…

Red Sox Among ‘Two Most Likely Landing Spots’ For Mets Star

To Boston Red Sox fans who are praying nightly for Pete Alonso to arrive as a Christmas gift, another Alonso update has surfaced! This time in the form of free-agent intel from The Athletic‘s Jim Bowden, who wrote on Wednesday that the New York Mets super-slugger is most likely to end up with the Red Sox or re-join the Mets, above all other outcomes. “There are several teams besides the Mets who are potentially shopping for a first baseman, including the Red Sox, Pirates, Reds, Angels, Rays, Nationals, Diamondbacks, Rockies and Twins,” Bowden wrote (subscription required). “However, his two most likely landing spots remain the Mets and Red Sox.” Bowden’s reporting aligns with recent info from MLB Network’s Jon Morosi, who identified Boston as the suitor most capable of swiping Alonso from Queens in the dark of the offseason night. “I believe the Red Sox are the strongest contender of anyone to take Pete Alonso away from the New York Mets.” – @jonmorosi It shouldn’t be an either or with Alex Bregman or Pete Alonso. This team needs both. FIGURE IT OUT.pic.twitter.com/OkVD7cg9AO— Tyler Milliken (@tylermilliken_) November 17, 2025 Whoever secures Alonso is securing powerful production mixed with durability — a lethal combination. Alonso delivered a bounteous 2025 season for the New York Mets, slashing .272/.347/.524/.871 with 38 home runs, an NL-leading 41 doubles, and 126 RBI across 709 plate appearances. The Polar Bear was selected to his fifth All-Star Game and finished 11th in NL MVP voting. Alonso appeared in every single game of the regular season. Red Sox Need ‘Hefty’ Deal To Sign All-Star Closer Looking For Massive Contract

To pay or not to pay, that is the question facing Boston Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow. Most of the attention right now is focused on the club’s quest to beef up the lineup, with many of the rumors linking the Red Sox to Philadelphia Phillies designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso. However Boston, like most clubs, also is kicking the tires on relievers. Perhaps…

The Boston Bruins suffered a 5-4 road loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday. Boston struggled out of the gates as the Bruins trailed 3-0, not even two minutes into the second period. The Red Wings then led 5-2 just under four minutes into the third period, and the Bruins’ head coach, Marco Sturm, pulled Jeremy Swayman for Joonas Korpisalo. Top NBA Analyst Calls Celtics ‘Obvious Finals Contenders’

The New York Knicks are seen as potentially the best team in the East, but the Boston Celtics handed them an L on Tuesday night, which has people talking. The victory wasn’t just a fluke, either, as the Celts have beaten the other supposed “cream” teams of the East in recent days: the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons. This got popular Yahoo’s NBA analyst Kevin O’Connor posting to X on Tuesday evening…

Celtics Put Eastern Conference On Notice With Impressive Stretch

If the rest of the Eastern Conference thought they wouldn’t have to worry about the Boston Celtics this year, they should think again. The Celtics may not have Jayson Tatum, but they’re not messing around. If they’ve proven anything over the first six weeks of the season, it’s that they can still hang with the best teams in the East. Boston proved that again on Tuesday, taking down the New York Knicks 123-117 at TD Garden. The Celtics overcame an early deficit and held off a late comeback, improving to 12-9 with their seventh win in their last nine games. Boston has been especially good against the Eastern Conference lately, knocking off the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Knicks over the last 10 days. Its lone defeat during that stretch was a narrow road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Of the top six seeds in the East entering tonight, the Celtics have faced the Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 6 teams. They've now beaten them all, and have a 6-3 overall record against them (6-1 in their last seven). pic.twitter.com/239qp5Z074— Marc D'Amico (@Marc_DAmico) December 3, 2025 The Eastern Conference is wide open this year, and the Celtics are proving they’re legit contenders. They’ve beaten four of the top six seeds in the East and have a 6-3 record against them, including 6-1 in their last seven matchups. Boston has been quite feisty without Tatum, taking the Eastern Conference by surprise. The Celtics may not be the most talented team in the league, but they play hard and keep finding ways to win basketball games. Up next is an easy road matchup against the Washington Wizards on Thursday, followed by a big home game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. The Lakers have the second-best record in the Western Conference at 15-5, so that will be another important test for Boston. Jaylen Brown Drops 42 As Celtics Beat Knicks

If “statement wins” can happen this early in the NBA season, the Boston Celtics notched one on Tuesday night with a big victory over the visiting New York Knicks, who entered TD Garden as the second-best team in the Eastern Conference. Celtics superstar Jaylen Brown overcame a clumsy first quarter to drop a game-high 42 points on New York. Brown’s mid-range game was completely unstoppable once he caught fire. JB…

Patriots Should Consider Taking Stab At Recently Released All-Pro Corner

New England Patriots fans were reminded in recent years of how rare playoff runs are in the NFL. Now 13 weeks through Mike Vrabel’s first season as head coach of the “rebuilding” Patriots, New England sits atop the AFC with an 11-2 record heading into the bye week and a chance to clinch the division the next time they step on the field. The time to make winning moves is now, and with the Pittsburgh Steelers waiving…

Red Sox Predicted To Sign $199M Ace After Adding Sonny Gray

The Boston Red Sox have already made one major addition to the starting rotation by adding Sonny Gray. They could be looking at making another. The American League East is no joke. The Toronto Blue Jays, fresh off a run to the World Series, have already signed Dylan Cease. The division figures to get even tougher, and there is no such thing as too much pitching. NorthJersey.com’s Andrew Tredinnick predicted on Tuesday that the Red Sox would trade for Framber Valdez. A rotation featuring Valdez, Garret Crochet, Gray and Brayan Bello would be great. “Boston gets another dynamic left-hander atop its rotation,” Tredinnick wrote of Boston getting Valdez. “It works because Valdez works more north-south and Garrett Crochet goes west to east.” Valdez has been a great pitcher for the Houston Astros in the last six seasons. Since 2020, he has had a 3.23 ERA in 154 games. He is a two-time All-Star and has received Cy Young Award votes in four separate seasons. Last season, he had a 3.66 ERA in 31 starts. He threw two complete games and covered 192 innings. He would be a great addition to any rotation, but the Red Sox could use another elite arm in a division that features sluggers like Aaron Judge and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. The Red Sox could be focusing on spending money on an impact bat in free agency. Having already added Gray, a power hitter could be their next priority. However, Valdez would cost them plenty. Spotrac projects him to sign a six-year, $199 million deal. Spending that much on another pitcher would limit their ability to spend on position players. However, they could still trade for an impact bat.
