Slot Wants Players to Focus On Positives But Says “We Can Do Better”

Il y a 50 ans, le Concorde était mis en service

Kerkez: “I Am Still Not Satisfied”
Liverpool FC left-back Milos Kerkez was the player who spoke besides head coach Arne Slot ahead of the Champions League fixture against Olympique de Marseille at the Orange Velodrome. He had some interesting answers to questions asked at the presser. A topic that has come up amongst fans is Kerkez’s relationship with Cody Gakpo, with many noting that the winger rarely passes the ball to the fullback, if ever. Here is what Kerkez had to say: “It’s not really a problem, I think I play well with Cody, I wouldn’t call it a problem. It is my job to give a winger the ball, to make space, to run, to overlap, to underlap, to do everything I can to open space for him to go. And I even create space then for a striker and then it is his decision what he is going to do. We don’t have any problem, we talk always, often in training we do the combinations, so there is not really a problem.” He was also asked if he feels he has settled in at Liverpool and if he has improved: “I think yes, when I came here, I think every player needs a bit of time to adapt because you come to one of the biggest clubs in the world. I got help from everyone; from the boss, from the players, from staff, from everyone. I think in the last month or so I improved in a lot of areas but I am still not satisfied and of course I want more, and everyone is going to help me to do it.” On the subject if he’s learnt from Andy Robertson: [He helped me] a lot. We talked a few times. Like I always said before, Robbo is a legend here in the club, a big player, did a lot of stuff for the club, won trophies. For me it is a privilege to be next to such a player. I am just taking it in, I’m learning, I’m listening always. I just want to improve. I think Milos has definitely been one of the better players over the past two months. Given license to roam up the pitch has unlocked his natural game a bit more, and his dogged defending against the likes of Bukayo Saka was a highlight. There are parts of his game he needs to work on, like his progressive passing, but he’s still young and there’s more we can expect to see from him in time.

Marché automobile 2025. Renault, Peugeot, Volvo, Tesla...
