In reply to Ryan Shazier Resilience. If Tomlin was such a good coach why didn't he teach Shazier how to tackle without using his head ?

I agree . I was stunned when the owner said that. I wouldn’t t want to work for him . FWIW I had Coleman labeled a bust pre draft.

In reply to James Cowan. Approximately three-yr., $50MM. More than a heart surgeon's yearly salary, no doubt.

In reply to Christopher Young. They have been up to the cap every year, multiple market setting contracts e.g. TJ Watt, sure they don't do what the Eagles and Browns do with insane void years but they are hardly spending under the cap annually. Assistant Coaches we have no clue if they get paid less than other teams, we have no clue if they have less coaches (and see Alex Kozora's research it is not indicative of…

In reply to Rustin_Cohle. Every team has to spend x amount (95%) of their cap space in the NFL. So yes, they do spend 'to the cap', but it's by rule not choice. Not arguing your point because I agree with you but it's also not like the Rooney's can openly not spend like Bobby N. If they (or any NFL owner) could well then they probably would to maximize their own profits.

This is what I've been trying to tell people. At the end of the day HCs want to win SBs, but they also (maybe even more importantly) want stability and the prospect of a long term job. Personally I don't think Lamar or Josh Allen will ever win a SB. They both have a long history of falling flat on their faces and making mistakes in the biggest games. Some guys are gamers in the regular season, but fold when the pressure is on in the playoffs. Lamar and Josh are win now prospects. What happens when they don't win, who will be in line to follow them? That's what any of these coaches that are "up and coming" should be thinking about. The Steelers and AR2 are patient to a fault. If I'm a HC candidate the Steelers job is #1.

In reply to Nolrog. Glad to read that you consider our fans "no better than" Browns fans, Titans fans, Raiders fans, et. al. You know, those teams that are always at the top of every round. WE SHOULD HAVE BETTER FANS. THAT'S MY POINT.

In reply to Cowpow. Call aside, when the "franchise QB" turns the ball over four times, one a really dumb fumble... coaches are easier to move on from players, though. Even if the move isn't all that bright. Doing something to show he's doing something...

In reply to Steelerfan2695. I don't care that Tomlin resigned - given the environment and how much family-time he's missed, I think it was smart. He's rich enough, his legacy - both the good and the bad - are cemented and weren't likely to change. Why not step away and enjoy some important things while you can. Starting with family, hopefully. I'm SALTY about Steelers fans ensconced in "cancel culture" leading…

Take the opportunity for a fresh start. Rodgers showed his ceiling and it's not enough. Bring in Willis or Mac Jones. Let Will Howard take run at this thing. Either is a better solution than Rodgers. Going 9-8 and losing in the wild card is a worse scenario than going 5-12. I'm not and won't ever promote "tanking", but take a big swing at something different. If it fails there's still upside to that. You have to do…

In reply to Ryan Shazier Resilience. Not even close. Signed, Santa Claus (Philadelphia even booed me). (Philly set up courtrooms in the Vet to deal with the insane behavior of it's fans)
