If I’m walking a little weird, it’s because I’m in a little bit of pain.” In the show, he plays the role of a former college quarterback who disguises himself to start over in his pursuit of winning a championship. Powell also teased what’s coming in Season 2. He told Variety, “We’re leveling up on the football, we’re leveling up on every part of the fish. I’m just really excited about what this season has in store.” He acknowledged that Season 1 “ended on sort of a darker note, and I think that’s what season 2 is definitely gonna represent. It’s really the chaos that Russ Holliday is bringing on the world.” He continued, “It’s all coming crashing down in the best way.” Others nominated in the category included Seth Rogen, Adam Brody, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Jeremy Allen White. Rogen took home the award for his role in “The Studio.” Meanwhile, the Apple TV+ show won the Golden Globe award for Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. In an interview with PEOPLE before “Chad Powers” premiered last year, Powell had revealed that the football scenes were real in the show. He said, “All the football is legitimate. I mean, I’m facing off. I’m squaring up with guys who played pro ball. I mean, these are real.” He also admitted that he had refrained from drinking, which helped him stay in shape.
