Steelers News: Mike Tomlin sends clear message to Aaron Rodgers about comments after Chargers loss
Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin wasn't satisfied with Aaron Rodgers' Sunday night performance against the Los Angeles Chargers. Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin only needed three words to share his thoughts on Aaron Rodgers‘ Sunday night performance against the Los Angeles Chargers. “How would you?,” was Tomlin’s answer when asked how he would assess Rodgers’ outing in Week 10, quickly passing to the next question. Not long after that viral comment, the Steelers head coach once again addressed Rodgers’ night in LA. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Tomlin made it clear that while he won’t excuse Rodgers’ performance as just a bad day, he still trusts the veteran QB to lead the offense. “I’m not going to chalk it up to an off night, but there are no long-term concerns,” Tomlin said of Rodgers‘ performance against the Chargers, as quoted by Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “Asked him to clarify how he would describe Rodgers’ night, and he says that he has no reservations about Rodgers’ ability to play the position and play it well,” Pryor added on her X account. Rodgers, Steelers’ offense struggle in LA The Steelers’ offense left a lot to be desired on national television, failing to score a touchdown until the fourth quarter in Los Angeles, with the Chargers already in control of the game. In the end, the hosts gained the upper hand with a 25-10 victory. Rodgers looked far from his true self in Week 10, completing just 16 of 31 passes for 161 yards, getting intercepted twice as his lone touchdown pass of the night came too late in the game. “You got to possess the ball in order to score, and if you’re not doing enough on possession down, you’ve gotta have splash plays to score and we didn’t have either,” Tomlin added on the Steelers’ offensive performance last time out. Tomlin, Rodgers’ Steelers face unique chance for redemption Pittsburgh has no time to dwell on this setback though, as a must-win game is right around the corner. On Sunday, the Steelers host the Cincinnati Bengals in a crucial game for the AFC North standings. The Steelers are still in control of the division, but their 5-4 record leaves them with no margin for error. The Baltimore Ravens are back in contention, improving to 4-5 after winning their last three games. The Bengals are still alive at 3-6, so this is Pittsburgh’s opportunity to end Cincinnati’s aspirations. It will also be an opportunity for redemption, as Rodgers and Tomlin fell to Joe Flacco and company by just two points in a Week 7 prime-time thriller.

Cade Cunningham shares unwanted record with Kobe Bryant after matching Michael Jordan vs Wizards
Cade Cunningham delivered a performance laden with emotion for the Detroit Pistons against the Washington Wizards, during which he surpassed an unwanted record set by Kobe Bryant, after equaling Michael Jordan. On a night filled with magic, it was not the Washington Wizards who stole the spotlight, but rather Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham. The player etched his name into the history books, though not in the way he had hoped, as he exceeded an undesirable record held by NBA legend Kobe Bryant, while simultaneously equaling Michael Jordan in another significant statistic. This bittersweet moment unfolded on Monday night against the Wizards, a team that has struggled in the early stages of the regular season. Cunningham joined the ranks of Jordan as the only two players in NBA history to record 40+ points, 10+ rebounds, 10+ assists, and 5+ steals in a single game. However, he also surpassed Bryant by missing more than 30 shots in a single game. Despite these dramatic moments, the silver lining for Cunningham and the Pistons was the victory, as Detroit boasts an impressive 9-2 record at the onset of the regular season. This success ignites hope among the Pistons’ fan base, dreaming to achieve great things in the playoffs. Cunningham’s leadership, alongside Dennis Jenkins, who excelled against the Wizards by scoring 24 points in 34 minutes, has generated considerable excitement among Eastern Conference teams. The Pistons currently top the standings, enjoying a comfortable lead over the New York Knicks. Leading the league in games played so far (11), Cunningham has averaged 27.5 points per game, along with 9.9 assists in 37 minutes of playing time per game. On Monday night, Cunningham played 45 minutes, nearly scoring one point for every minute he was on the court. Other key contributors to the Pistons’ strong start Undeniably, Cunningham is spearheading the team in nearly every statistical category. Yet, the cohesion within the Pistons is fueled by the consistent performance of their starting lineup. Alongside Jalen Duren, Ron Holland, Duncan Robinson, and Javonte Green, Cunningham and the Pistons are enjoying an excellent start this season. Significantly, Duren has been contributing 19 points per game, ranking second-highest on the team, while also securing 12 rebounds per matchup. Given these dynamics, the fan base holds high expectations for a team that is catching everyone off guard in the NBA.

NHL News: Senators GM Steve Staios sends strong message on team’s mindset without Brady Tkachuk
Ottawa Senators general manager Steve Staios broke his silence on the team’s mindset without Brady Tkachuk, offering a revealing message as the club adjusts to its captain’s absence. The Ottawa Senators have quietly built momentum without their captain Brady Tkachuk, who remains sidelined following thumb surgery. What began as a concerning stretch has turned into a test of resolve, one the team has answered convincingly. The recovery process for Tkachuk continues as expected after undergoing surgery on October 16, but in his absence, the Senators have embraced a collective mentality. Their 4–2 win over the Utah Mammoth on Sunday reflected just that — a group effort marked by consistency, accountability, and composure under pressure. General manager Steve Staios made it clear that the team’s recent surge is no accident. “The strength is in the group and in the team, the way that we play, the way we’re coached, the commitment, the character of this group. That’s our identity,” he said Monday, according to NHL.com. How have the Senators maintained their identity? Coach Travis Green credited the group’s composure and willingness to adjust. “As much as we want him in the lineup, we have players who can play. It’s just the next-man-up mentality,” Green said. “You have to win with injuries in this league.” Brady Tkachuk #7 of the Senators skates against the Capitals during the first period on March 03, 2025. Photo by Patrick Smith/Getty Images. What has changed since the early struggles? The Senators’ slow 2–4–1 start exposed areas where the team pressed offensively. Staios said those issues stemmed not from lack of effort, but from misplaced urgency. “It seemed like we were eager to try to get on the offense; just a little disconnected that way,” he explained. “All well intended though. Our defensemen were moving up the ice, but just a little bit disconnected and not playing to our identity.” Focus on consistency and growth With Tkachuk still weeks away from returning, the Senators continue to build confidence without their captain.“Brady’s done all he can to continue to lead, even with his injury, being in and around the group,” Staios said. “Credit to the group. We know how much of an impact he is for us as a team, yet our players took it upon themselves to step up and continue to play well.”

Jaelan Phillips throws subtle shade at Dolphins after great Eagles debut vs Packers
After a winning debut with the Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers, Jaelan Phillips took the time to throw shade to his former team, the Miami Dolphins. The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football and thanks in part to a big debut game for Jaelan Phillips. After the game, the player took a shot against his former team, the Miami Dolphins. Phillips said that getting traded to Philadelphia was “literally the greatest thing that has happened to me in my whole life, probably.” Talk about ill-will towards the Dolphins. “I felt amazing energy from the guys. There is just an air of confidence, and everybody played together. We had a great game, obviously, super gritty,” Phillips said. Jaelan Phillips brought instant results for the Eagles The Phillips trade is already looking like a home run. Phillips played 52 snaps and racked up seven pressures, six tackles, two QB hits and a fumble recovery. He also sealed the win for Philadelphia as he stuffed Packers‘ running back Josh Jacobs on a 4&1 with a minute and a half to go. An instant payoff for the #Eagles, as newly acquired Jaelan Phillips makes a key play. pic.twitter.com/ydB0k8Mrb7— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 11, 2025 Phillips went from a 3-7 team to a defending Super Bowl champion that is still fighting to go back-to-back. Thanks to Phillips, now the Eagles are 7-2 and got a big win at none other than Lambeau Field. Philadelphia’s defense is a wrecking crew The Packers have a talented offense and they are a strong team at Lambeau Field. The Eagles, off a bye, were prepared, dynamic, and allowed only seven points that came with less than six minutes to play in the game. Under head coach Nick Sirianni, the Eagles are 5-0 off a bye week. They hold the best record in the NFC alongside the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams. However, Philly holds the tiebreakers so the Eagles are the first seed.

NHL points record: The teams and stars who redefined a regular season
When the chase for points became a showcase of daring talent, a few teams and their brightest stars stretched the limits of a regular season, leaving numbers that still echo through NHL history. When the 1976–77 Canadiens stormed through the league with a near-perfect rhythm, they set a template for supremacy that teams like the 1995–96 Red Wings and the 2018–19 Lightning later chased. Each run rewrote what a regular-season ceiling could look like. Those record pushes were fueled by rosters stacked with firepower—LaFleur slicing through defenses, Yzerman driving Detroit’s surge, Kucherov threading passes with ruthless precision. Their seasons carried the weight of inevitability long before April arrived. Yet the numbers only tell part of the NHL story. Behind each historic points total sat systems built for relentless pressure, coaches fine-tuning tempo, and locker rooms convinced they were shaping an era. The echoes of those seasons still frame the race for greatness. Boston Bruins | 2022-23 season – 135 points 2022-23 Boston Bruins (Source: Maddie Meyer/Getty Images) In a league painstakingly designed for parity, the 2022-23 Boston Bruins achieved an unparalleled level of dominance, shattering the all-time NHL records for both wins (65) and points (135). This was not a historic anomaly born of a different era; it was a modern marvel, delivered in the tight confines of the salary cap. Under coach Jim Montgomery, the Bruins functioned as a perfect blend of high-octane offense and ironclad defense, a duality rarely seen. The foundation of their success was the veteran core, led by the peerless two-way game of captain Patrice Bergeron. However, the engine was the career-year surge from David Pastrnak, who eclipsed the 60-goal mark. They weren’t just winning; they were compiling records of consistency, including five separate winning streaks of seven or more games, showcasing a season-long chokehold on the competition. The only historical footnote to this epic regular season remains its stunning, yet early, exit in the playoffs, a cruel reminder that regular-season mastery is a separate category from Stanley Cup glory. Montreal Canadiens | 1976-77 season – 132 points 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens (Source: The Hockey Writers) To appreciate the ceiling of NHL regular season performance, one must look back at the 1976-77 Montreal Canadiens. This team set a benchmark of 132 points that stood for 46 years, and still maintains the all-time record for the highest points percentage (1.650) in league history—a testament to their dominance in the two-point win era. Coached by the legendary Scotty Bowman, the Canadiens were less a hockey team and more a perfectly tuned symphony of Hall of Famers. They lost a modern-era record low of just eight games all season. Offensively, Guy Lafleur’s 136 points led the charge, while the defense, anchored by Hall of Fame goaltender Ken Dryden, was statistically unassailable, outscoring opponents by a staggering, league-record differential of 216 goals. This wasn’t merely a record-setting season; it was an exercise in on-ice inevitability, a season that defines what it means to be a true dynasty. Detroit Red Wings | 1995-96 season – 131 points 1995-96 Detroit Red Wings (Source: The Score) The mid-nineties saw the Detroit Red Wings ascend from contender to colossus, culminating in the 1995-96 season where they amassed 131 points. In a physical, defense-heavy period for the NHL, this Detroit team, also helmed by Scotty Bowman, redefined regular-season discipline. They tied the Bruins’ then-record of 62 wins by prioritizing structure over chaos. With Captain Steve Yzerman evolving into a consummate two-way leader, the Wings led the entire league in Goals Against (181), showcasing the potent efficiency of their back end, featuring future legends like Nicklas Lidstrom. Their season was a clinic in system hockey, designed to suffocate opponents and capitalize on opportunities. While the quest for the Cup that…
