Where are you getting your information that Hypervision's lens designs are not ready for production? They have demo'd them countless times going back even 2 years ago. Arthur at Hypervision even said way back then they are ready to work with companies to manufacture them.

Comment on Google’s Leading AR Glasses Partner XREAL Raises $100M by William Washington
The author said he's looking for all day usage out of the Project Aura. These guys said that's not their specialty. They look at these types of glasses to be used like sunglasses, to be used when needed. I've owned almost every pair of XReal glasses dating back to when they were NReal, I have the XReal One Pros now. None are for all day use and if you are in the crowd of people who don't wear glasses, using them all day really gets on your nerves, so that's not what you are looking for in Smart glasses. However you do want the sleek profile. i did get to talk to these guys at CES and they basically said birdbath lenses are way cheaper than waveguide and it allows them to hit the price point they need to sale so many glasses. Said their goal is to continue R&D to shave down the size of the lens. They said we first saw that in the XReal One Pros and that they'll continue to try and shave them down. they definitely need to make the lenses smaller if they are still going to be relevant once there are plenty of Binocular style AR glasses on the market. The modularity of it, I'm unsure if they need to change anytime soon. Have an external puck for battery and computing makes for a more powerful product than those with those components built in. At least for the foreseeable future while they get battery technology worked out. This is why I think Monocular smart glasses will be big for a while.
