Comment on “Feeling Out There” That Raiders Could Pursue Lamar Jackson Trade, NBC Host Says by Bill Gregory
When I suggested the same thing, over a month ago, others on this site said "no way." Now, according to this article, there are some who are considering the possibility. For what it's worth, here's my suggestion; Ameer Abdullah, Josh Jacobs, Davante Adams, Robert Spillane, Demico Autry, Jacobi Meyers all did well for other teams, this year. These players were not the problem, Raiders "leadership" ( or more accurately the lack thereof) was. Tre Tucker's and Michael Mayer's "problems" ( lack of productivity ) are a direct result of the Raiders organization, most specifically, inconsistent offensive line play and inept quarterback play. If anyone doubts this then watch them, Tre Tucker and Michael Mayer, go to another team and be productive. The Raiders need, in addition to a competent offensive line, veteran quarterback depth, namely Malik Willis as the starter, Joshua Dobbs as the backup and a rookie, if that's Mendoza so be it, who won't be under pressure to start immediately. That's how you add competent depth at this position. Kolton Miller, Zamir White, Dillon Laube, Stone Forsythe, Tyree Wilson, Kenny Pickett, Geno Smith and Adian O'Connell all need to be let go. Additionally, it wouldn't hurt to address the (not so) Special teams. The offensive line and Special Teams coaches could use a serious upgrade. Surely, everyone agrees that this team has many needs and areas to address. This team is currently paying no less that four former head coaches and are in search of a fourth one, go figure. If this were a business. oh, it is a business, they would be guilty of mismanagement. But, back to fixing this team's problems. Like him or not, Antonio Pierce knew how to motivate players. He should be considered as the defensive coordinator. Also, while I believe that Brady's insights about quarterback play are invaluable, he needs to focus his efforts in that department. Long ago, Al Davis hired a former offensive lineman as his head coach, John Madden. Perhaps Lincoln Kennedy should be added to the coaching staff. It's not like he doesn't know or understand offensive line play.

Matt Damon Thinks ‘The Odyssey’ Is the ‘Last Big Movie’ He’ll Ever Make With Film Cameras | Video
Matt Damon has plenty of projects in the works, but according to the actor, Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” might be the “last big movie on film” he ever gets to do. Damon’s revelation came in the latest episode of Netflix’s “Skip Intro” podcast. As the discussion neared its end, host Krista Smith asked the actor if there was one core memory, old or new, that was a “turning point” in his life. Damon immediately cited filming “The Odyssey.” “Doing ‘The Odyssey’ this last year, it felt like my one chance in my life to make a David Lean movie, you know?” he said. “That I was making the last big movie on film that I was ever going to get to make.” (Oscar-winner Nolan famously shot the blockbuster epic on film using exclusively Imax film cameras — an industry first.) Damon said the film had “a profound effect” on him, one that he’s “still kind of unpacking.” Watch the interview below: “If I look objectively at what was required to do that job, I think it came at just the right time in my life,” he said. “I think I would have been miserable 20 years ago, trying to do that job. “You were uncomfortable every day. But I really enjoyed, like, deeply enjoyed every minute of it,” he continued. “Intellectually, I understood that concept of you’re not in control of what happens, but you are in control of how you feel about it — it’s easier said than done. But to really feel gratitude — and I think because it was tied into not only the joy of being able to have a role that great with a director that great with a group of people that great and a story that great, but in that sense of nostalgia I had for how I started, how I came into the business, the feeling I had when iIwas shooting ‘School Ties’ and Freddie Francis was the cinematographer and I, you know, and I was like, ‘This is really happening.'” Damon will star in the film as Greek hero Odysseus, working alongside actors including past Nolan collaborators Robert Pattinson, Anne Hathaway, Elliot Page, Benny Safdie, Bill Irwin and Himesh Patel. The film will also feature Nolan newcomers Zendaya, Tom Holland, Jon Bernthal, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Samantha Morton, John Leguizamo, Corey Hawkins and Will Yun Lee. The film will be Nolan’s adaptation of Homer’s Ancient Greek poem, and was filmed with “brand new Imax film technology.” “The Odyssey” is set to hit theaters on July 17. Don Lemon Flames Nicki Minaj for Calling Him a Gay Slur Over ICE Protest Report: ‘I’m Not Surprised’
Don Lemon eviscerated rapper Nicki Minaj after she called him a homophobic slur over an ICE protest report on Sunday, saying that he’s “not surprised” the incendiary musician “does not understand journalism.” The former CNN journalist shared video footage Sunday from a protest in Minneapolis, where activists interrupted a service at a church where a local ICE agent, David Easterwood, reportedly works as a pastor. The video shows Lemon interviewing protestors before they enter and disrupt the Sunday church service, chanting “ICE out” and demanding justice for the fatal shooting of Renee Good. Watch that video below: Minneapolis activists disrupted a church service where David Easterwood serves as a pastor, according to lawyer and activist @nekimal – Easterwood is also the acting field office director for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in St. Paul, Minnesota. I'm LIVE from Minneapolis right now — Don Lemon (@donlemonofficial.bsky.social) 2026-01-18T21:54:25.122Z Minaj later took to X Sunday night, calling Lemon “disgusting” for his coverage at the church and alleging that he would “never do that to any other religion.” Her post was led by the homophobic slur. (Lemon is openly gay and married his longtime partner Tim Malone in 2024.) “DON ‘C–K SUCKIN’ LEMON IS DISGUSTING. HOW DARE YOU?” Minaj wrote in a post to X, sharing a meme of the horror doll character Chucky. “I WANT THAT THUG IN JAIL!!!!! HE WOULD NEVER DO THAT TO ANY OTHER RELIGION. LOCK HIM UP!!!!!” Lemon responded to Minaj in a statement to TMZ on Monday, saying, “I’m not surprised Nicki Minaj does not understand journalism and is weighing in on matters that are above her capacity. “However, the more appropriate image for her post is a ‘Pick Me’ Doll,” he added. Minaj has been increasingly vocal about her conservative and anti-LGBTQ+ viewpoints on social media and in public forums. Most recently, the rapper appeared onstage with Erika Kirk at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest. She received backlash for her “Boys, be boys” rant, which many interpreted as anti-transgender rhetoric. ICE agents have continued to enforce immigration crackdowns in Minneapolis, further agitating relations with local residents. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has said the city has filed litigation to end ICE’s deployment, following the killing of Renee Good and the separate ICE shooting of a man in Northern Minneapolis.
