Anker goes big with new whole home backup system
If you can afford this house you can probably afford a whole-home backup solution like the E10. | Image: Anker Homeowners in search of grid independence have another option today with the launch of Anker's Solix E10 big-ass battery system. It joins companies like Tesla and EcoFlow in offering whole-home backup solutions in the US market meant to counter blackouts and reduce monthly energy bills, or even eliminate them completely. The base $4,299 E10 system starts with one Power Module and one battery that can keep a few individual appliances running, and scale up to power an entire home. DJI’s mobile selfie stick / tripod / stabilizer will track you automatically for its lowest price of $103
If you’ve got a recent smartphone, chances are it’s got a really good camera — and don’t you want to take the best photos you can? One way to do that is via the DJI Osmo Mobile 7P Gimbal Stabilizer, a selfie stick that includes a tripod, a telescoping arm, and (perhaps best of all) a module that offers built-in computer vision that automatically tracks you, stops and starts, and adjusts framing with a wave of your hand. And it’s currently on sale at Amazon, Adorama, and B&H for $103, down to its lowest price from its usual $129. DJI Osmo Mobile 7P Where to Buy: $129 $103 at Amazon $129 $103 at B&H $129 $103 at Adorama In fact, the Osmo Mobile 7P’s Multifunctional Module offers a treasure trove of tricks to help you make the most of your camera, including a built-in fill light with adjustable color temperature. You can also pair it with one of DJI’s wireless mics. According to Sean Hollister, our reviewer, he got five hours of battery life with tracking, or four hours with tracking and the fill light on, which is not bad. (The company claims a maximum of 10 hours.) But of course, the main advantage is the ability to stabilize your image as you photograph your kids, your friends, or yourself. More great deals It’s still winter, but you may be already looking forward to long summer hikes (or you may be lucky enough to live in a climate where it’s not cold enough to snow). If so, you may want to equip yourself with the Big Blue 28W Solar Charger, which is on sale at Amazon for $56.20 with an on-page coupon, down from $79.99. It comes with a dual USB-C and a single USB-A port, each of which delivers a maximum output of 5V/3A and can be used simultaneously with the others. The Big Blue doesn’t actually store power, so it has to be used on a sunny day — but it can be incredibly handy when there isn’t any other power source around. The Anker 341 USB Power Strip is now available for $19.99 — $6 off and its second-best price to date — from Amazon and Anker (with promo code WS7DV2KQNAQF). The five-foot-long power strip includes eight AC outlets, two USB-A ports, and one USB-C port, and includes 2000 joules of surge protection. The SteelSeries Arctis Pro wireless headset is a bit long in the tooth (it was released in 2018), but it still delivers great sound, a comfy fit, and an unusual feature: swappable batteries. Its wireless base station lets you connect multiple audio sources; you can toggle between, say, a PC and a console by pressing a button. And it’s now available at Best Buy for $139.99, which is 50 percent off its usual price of $279.99.
