A preliminary 2.7 magnitude earthquake struck near Santa Rosa, according to the United States Geological Survey. The quake, which hit at 6:03 a.m., was centered 4.5 miles east-southeast of Santa Rosa and 6.4 north-northeast of Rohnert Park, the USGS said. Further information was not immediately available.
