Patriots vs. Broncos Thursday injury report: Garrett Bradbury joins New England’s sidelined

Patriots open practice window for starting wide receiver Mack Hollins
The New England Patriots remained without Mack Hollins during Wednesday’s preparations for the Denver Broncos. That changed by Thursday, however, as the wide receiver practiced for the first time since being sent to injured reserve in December. His 21-day activation window has officially been opened ahead of the AFC Championship Game at Mile High. Between the end of the regular season and the start of the postseason, the 6-foot-4, 221-pound target missed four games before becoming eligible to return this week. The wideout depth chart has featured Kayshon Boutte, Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas as well as rookies Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III in his absence. Agreeing to terms on a two-year, $8.7 million contract last March, Hollins stands 15 appearances into his stay in Foxborough. Starting 13 games, the versatile veteran has caught 46 passes for 550 yards and two touchdowns. His 657 offensive snaps led the position at the time of his move to injured reserve. Entering the NFL in the fourth round of the 2017 draft out of the University of North Carolina, Hollins made previous stops with the Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills. The Super Bowl LII champion’s career spans 133 games, including playoffs, along with 214 receptions for 2,732 yards and 18 touchdowns. He has also served as a special teams captain during his time in the league. The Patriots opened defensive tackle Joshua Farmer’s 21-day window to return from injured reserve to begin the week. And leading up to the divisional round last week, running back Terrell Jennings also resumed practicing for the AFC’s No. 2 seed. The list of candidates to get the green light now checks in at three. Head coach Mike Vrabel’s side currently carries a full 53-man roster and 17-man practice squad. Activations would require corresponding moves before Saturday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline for the AFC Championship Game. Sunday’s kickoff at Empower Field is set for 3 p.m. ET.

Drake Maye, Mike Vrabel among five Patriots named award finalists
The New England Patriots will be well represented at this year’s NFL Honors as they feature finalists for six awards in the 2025 Associated Press NFL Awards. Drake Maye is among the finalists for two of those awards: Most Valuable Player and Offensive Player of the Year. Maye, who was voted second-team AP All-Pro behind Matthew Stafford, was one of the biggest reasons for New England’s rise to 14-3 this regular season. In his second season, Maye led the NFL and set a Patriots franchise record with a 72 percent completion rate in addition to leading the league in several other advanced metrics. He is the only player (and quarterback) as a finalists for both awards. Two of Maye’s top offensive weapons — Stefon Diggs and TreVeyon Henderson — are finalists for Comeback Player of the Year and Offensive Rookie of the Year, respectively. A year after tearing his ACL, Diggs was New England’s top pass catcher as he eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the seventh time in his career. He also led the team with 85 receptions as he became a trusted and key weapon for Maye. After being selected in the second-round of this year’s draft, Henderson delivered as one of the most explosive players in all of football behind four 50-plus yard touchdowns. Overall, Henderson overcame a slow start to finish the season with over 1,100 scrimmage yards and 10 total touchdowns. The Patriots’ coaching staff will also be represented which starts with head coach Mike Vrabel who is a finalist for Coach of the Year. Vrabel, who previously won the award in 2021, immediately rebuilt the culture in his first year in charge and led the Patriots to a 14-3 record and the team’s first AFC East title since the 2019 season. Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was then a key part Maye’s development and the team’s offensive turnaround this season. In the midst of his third stint in New England, McDaniels is now up for Assistant Coach of the Year. The winners will be announced Feb. 5.
