Government shutdown ends after 43 days
WASHINGTON — The federal government is reopening today after Congress approved a short-term funding extension to end the longest shutdown in U.S. history. Representative Tim Walberg said the agreement allows Congress to return to the appropriations process. Walberg, who supported the funding measure, described the shutdown as unnecessary and said the extension restores regular order. [audio mp3="https://dehayf5mhw1h7.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/886/2025/11/14134429/wally.mp3"] Federal agencies are expected to resume full operations in the coming days, and employees furloughed during the shutdown will receive back pay under the bill.

Tecumseh Center for the Arts Radio Play
TECUMSEH — The Tecumseh Center for the Arts will present a staged radio performance of It’s a Wonderful Life on Saturday, December 20. The theater says the show is styled after a 1940s live radio broadcast, featuring vintage microphones, live sound effects, and performances by the Tecumseh Players. The event also includes live holiday music from the TCA Big Band and Vocalaires, along with seasonal selections performed by the TCA Youth Christmas Choir. Two performances are scheduled at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts on 400 Maumee Street in Tecumseh. Tickets are t$25 for adults, $20 for seniors and military members, and $15 for youth. More information and ticket purchasing are available at TheTCA.org.
