La fameuse « fraternité » sénégalo-marocaine survivra-t-elle à la finale électrique de la CAN 2025 à Rabat ? Au lendemain d’un match marqué par de très fortes tensions, le Maroc a décidé de passer à l’offensive sur le terrain institutionnel. Au lendemain de la défaite en finale face au Sénégal (0-1, a.p.), à travers un communiqué officiel, la Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) a annoncé son intention de saisir la Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) ainsi que la FIFA à la suite des événements survenus lors de la finale Maroc–Sénégal. La FRMF annonce des poursuites auprès de la CAF et de la FIFA La FRMF vise directement le retrait temporaire de l’équipe nationale sénégalaise du terrain, intervenue après la décision de l’arbitre Jean-Jacques Ndala d’accorder un penalty au Maroc dans le temps additionnel de la deuxième période. Une décision que la fédération marocaine qualifie de « juste selon l’unanimité des experts », et dont la contestation aurait, selon elle, gravement perturbé le déroulement normal de la rencontre. « Ce retrait a fortement affecté le cours du match et le rendement des joueurs », souligne la FRMF, qui parle d’un manquement sérieux aux règles et à l’esprit du jeu. Rappelons que la CAF a ouvert une enquête sur ces incidents. Pape Thiaw au cœur des débats Côté sénégalais, le sélectionneur Pape Thiaw avait encouragé ses joueurs à quitter le terrain, un geste lourd de conséquences qui pourrait exposer la FSF et certains officiels à des sanctions disciplinaires. Le Maroc, lui, estime avoir été lésé par ce qu’il considère comme une tentative de pression collective sur l’arbitre. D’autant que Brahim Diaz a ensuite raté son penalty. La gratitude envers le public marocain Dans son communiqué, la FRMF a également tenu à remercier chaleureusement le public marocain, resté mobilisé malgré la défaite en finale : « La Fédération adresse ses sincères remerciements à l’ensemble des supporters marocains pour leur présence massive et leur soutien exemplaire tout au long de la compétition. » Un message destiné à ressouder l’opinion publique autour de la sélection, dans un contexte où la frustration sportive se mêle désormais à un bras de fer politique et institutionnel. Une fracture durable entre Rabat et Dakar ? Après des années de relations cordiales souvent mises en avant par les deux fédérations, cette finale chaotique laisse des traces. Entre procédure juridique annoncée, possibles sanctions disciplinaires et rancœurs populaires, la CAN 2025 pourrait marquer un tournant durable dans les relations de football entre le Maroc et le Sénégal. Reste désormais à savoir comment la CAF tranchera… et si le terrain juridique ne deviendra pas le nouveau champ de bataille post-CAN.
