Disney Store Blocked From Customers, Permanent Closure Confirmed

Weeks after the permanent closure of one of the few remaining vintage-style Disney Store locations in the world, demolition crews have arrived to transform the space into a modernized merchandise location. Here are the latest construction updates. Disney Store Closure The Disney Store in the Disney Village shopping, dining, and entertainment district at Disneyland Paris Resort permanently closed on January 4, 2026. This nostalgic-style store featured oversized character statues, vibrant colors, and the aesthetics many of us remember from childhood visits to the mall. The European Disney park also shared concept art for the new location (shown above). Construction Updates Credit: Inside the Magic Two days after the Disney Store closed, Disneyland Paris Resort guests watched as crews unloaded the remaining merchandise, displays, and other items from inside the building. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @DLPRescueRanger shared these images of the inside of the shop, partially emptied: Curtains for the Disney Store at Disney Village, which is currently being emptied out before embarking on its big transformation into Disney Wonders, a new store whose opening is scheduled before the end of the year. Magic Kingdom Entrance Appears Abandoned in Viral Video

What started as a few seconds of video quickly turned into one of those moments that Disney fans can’t stop replaying in their heads. The clip shows the entrance to Magic Kingdom at 9 a.m. The gates are open. The day has officially begun. And yet, on the left side of the entrance, there isn’t a single guest walking in. No families hustling with strollers. No kids bouncing with excitement. No early-morning rope drop…

Disney Card Game Takes Over EPCOT Festival in Inescapable Integration

The EPCOT International Festival of the Arts celebrates various artistic forms, including Broadway shows and food presented as art. The festival has consistently featured a diverse blend of visual art, live performances, food, and hands-on experiences. Each part has its own space, creating a variety that attracts different interests and prevents one activity from overshadowing the others. The 2026 Festival of the Arts, from January 16 to February 23, prominently features Disney Lorcana, a collectible trading card game. Guests will find a Quest Distribution station at the World Showcase entrance, replacing the chalk art activities. This leads to various Lorcana activities, with life-size cards displayed around the park for a scavenger hunt experience. The Morocco Pavilion includes a special area for the Collection Quest and photo spots with Lorcana branding, making the integration of Lorcana hard to miss. For guests who are not interested in trading card games or who want to enjoy the traditional Festival of the Arts, the focus on Lorcana changes the feel of the festival. The card game is not just one of many activities; it is a key part of the festival that influences much of the interactive experience. The Quest Distribution Takeover The World Showcase bridge has traditionally marked the transition to the festival atmosphere, previously featuring chalk art activities. This year, the space is dedicated to Disney Lorcana, with a Quest Distribution station showcasing artwork and messaging that emphasizes scarcity and urgency. Guests who arrive later risk missing out on questbooks, which are essential for participating in the Ink & Find scavenger hunt and the Collection Quest. Without these questbooks, guests cannot fully engage with the festival’s interactive elements. Credit: Lorcana by Ravensburger Massive Cards Turn EPCOT Into Lorcana Territory The Ink & Find scavenger hunt scatters life-size Disney Lorcana cards throughout EPCOT. These installations are not subtle nods to the card game. They are large-scale representations that guests encounter repeatedly as they navigate World Showcase. Finding these cards and matching ink types to map locations becomes a structured activity that gives purpose to pavilion exploration. MORE Life-Sized Disney Lorcana Cards Arrive at EPCOT Ahead of the Festival of the Arts https://t.co/CgSc6uqF7x #Epcot #Lorcana #WaltDisneyWorld— MickeyBlog.com (@MickeyBlog_) January 14, 2026 For Lorcana players, this integration creates treasure hunt excitement. For guests unfamiliar with or uninterested in the card game, the constant presence of Lorcana can feel like the festival has been co-opted by a commercial product that dominates the visual landscape. The cards cannot be ignored or avoided. They occupy prominent positions designed to draw attention and encourage participation. Completing the scavenger hunt rewards guests with limited-edition promo cards featuring characters like Stitch, Rapunzel, and Donald Duck. These are reprints from previous Lorcana sets with modified backgrounds and special park promo markings. For collectors, these exclusive cards represent valuable additions that are not available through standard purchases. For non-players, the reward holds little meaning, making the entire activity feel designed exclusively for an audience already invested in Lorcana rather than the broader festival population. The Morocco Pavilion Collection Quest The Morocco Pavilion now houses the Illumineer’s Lounge, a dedicated Lorcana space where guests open booster packs and trade cards with other visitors. After collecting four cards, participants receive another limited-edition Magical Places promo card featuring characters like Stitch, Rapunzel, and Donald Duck. Credit: Brittany DiCologero The Collection Quest provides depth for serious Lorcana players. However, it also dedicates significant Morocco Pavilion space to an activity that serves a narrow audience segment rather than the general…

A Hidden Disney App Video Has Passholders Scrambling

Something quiet—but very intentional—just happened inside Walt Disney World’s Annual Passholder ecosystem, and if you blinked, you probably missed it. No announcement stage. No big blog post splash. No Cast Member holding up a magnet and smiling for the camera. Instead, Disney did something far more subtle. And for longtime Annual Passholders, that subtlety matters. EPCOT Becomes Ghost Town as Crowds Totally Disappear

If you’ve ever walked through EPCOT during the middle of the day, this probably sounds impossible. Wall-to-wall strollers. Packed snack lines. Shoulder-to-shoulder foot traffic through World Showcase. That’s the version of EPCOT most guests know. But every once in a while, the park tells a completely different story. Credit: Anna Fox (HarshLight), Flickr Recently, a photographer shared photos taken in the Morocco pavilion shortly after Luminous: The Symphony of Us wrapped up for the night. The images are, in fact, genuinely jarring—in the best way possible. The entire area is empty. No crowds filtering out. No last-minute shopping rush. No families hustling to the exits. Just quiet pathways, glowing lanterns, and architecture that finally gets to breathe. Along with the photos, the photographer summed it up perfectly: “Took these during my last trip shortly after Luminous. Couldn’t believe how empty the entire area was! This pavilion is easily one of the most underrated.” They’re not wrong. Seeing EPCOT Without Crowds Feels Unreal EPCOT isn’t a park you associate with silence. Even late at night, there’s usually a steady stream of guests heading for buses, Skyliner stations, or squeezing in one last drink around the lagoon. So seeing an entire pavilion completely deserted feels almost wrong— like you wandered somewhere you weren’t supposed to be. That’s what makes moments like this so special. After hours in EPCOT’s Morocco pavilion byu/theparksphotographer inWaltDisneyWorld The Morocco pavilion is already one of EPCOT’s most detailed spaces. The tile work, carved archways, fountains, and winding alleys were designed to be explored slowly. During the day, it’s easy to miss all of that when you’re dodging crowds or trying to keep up with a group. At night, with no one around? It’s a totally different experience. Why This Only Happens After Park Close Let’s be clear: this is not something you’ll ever see at 2 p.m. on a random Tuesday. These empty EPCOT moments usually happen right after the nighttime spectacular ends, when most guests immediately make a beeline for the exits. Morocco sits a bit off the main flow of traffic compared to pavilions like Mexico or France, which means it empties out fast once the fireworks crowd disperses. If you linger instead of rushing out, you can sometimes find yourself completely alone—at least for a few minutes. Credit: Disney Cast Members don’t rush guests out the second the show ends. As long as you’re calmly heading toward the exit, you’re often allowed to wander, take photos, and soak in the atmosphere. That’s how moments like this happen. Morocco at Night Might Be EPCOT’s Best Secret Calling the Morocco pavilion underrated feels like an understatement. At night, the lighting transforms the space. Warm lanterns glow against the textured walls. The quiet makes every footstep echo just a little. Without crowds, you notice small details—hand-painted tiles, carved doors, and hidden courtyards that most guests walk right past during the day. It almost feels like stepping into a movie set after filming has wrapped. Everything is still there, perfectly staged, but the audience is gone. For photographers, it’s a dream. For regular guests, it’s one of those Disney moments that feels oddly personal—like the park is letting you see it without the performance. Why You Should Slow Down Instead of Rushing Out Most people treat the end of the fireworks as the end of the night. They hurry out, beat the transportation rush, and call it a day. That’s understandable—but it also means missing one of EPCOT’s most peaceful windows. If you’re not in a rush, lingering for 10 or 15 minutes can completely change how the park feels. World Showcase transitions from chaotic to calm surprisingly fast, especially in the pavilions that aren’t direct exit routes. You won’t get this experience every night. Sometimes Cast Members guide traffic more directly. Sometimes crowds linger longer. But when it does happen, it’s…
