Co-developed with RTR Vehicles, the new model will go on sale later this year. Ford will sell the Bronco RTR with HOSS 3.0 suspension with trick Fox dampers. Each RTR also includes bright Hyper Lime accents and aggressive graphics. Ford’s eagerly-awaited debut for this year’s Detroit Auto Show is this: the 2027 Ford Bronco RTR. Designed to offer similar off-road credentials to the Bronco Raptor, but without the crazy 3.0-liter engine, the RTR could prove to be the perfect Bronco for many buyers. As standard, the Bronco RTR includes the available high-clearance suspension with 33-inch tires, but Ford will also sell it with a Sasquatch package, which we think will prove to be very popular. This option adds larger 35-inch tires and advanced HOSS 3.0 suspension with FOX internal bypass dampers. Read: Ford Broncos Are Falling Asleep And Not Waking Up Then there’s the engine. Some may be disappointed to learn Ford will only sell the RTR with the base 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, rather than the more powerful 2.7-liter. It says it’s done this because the 2.3-liter is lighter, which should make the front-end more dynamic when the off-roader is being pushed hard. But don’t for a second think some upgrades haven’t been made to this engine. Ford has added the same 1,000-watt cooling fan as used by the Bronco Raptor and also fitted an anti-lag system, ensuring the turbo can always quickly spool up. Bold Looks Loads of visual changes add to the RTR’s appeal. These include new wheels, Hyper Lime accents, side graphics, new wheel arches, a blacked-out front bumper, and the option of Avalanche Gray paint. “There’s a pedigree to this vehicle. It’s from Johnson Valley — we developed it there, taking what Ford and RTR have learned taking King of the Hammers championships and putting it to work,” RTR Vehicles driver Loren Healy said. “It’s the same approach Ford took in developing the Bronco Raptor, but with that added RTR approach to performance and style. It’s a well-built vehicle. We really did our homework to give people a vehicle they know will survive whatever they put it through. Because it survived everything we put it through in Johnson Valley.” Ford has not said how much the Bronco RTR will cost, other than stating that it “won’t break the bank.” Order books are scheduled to open in October.

Set to cross the auction block later this month, this low-slung orange 1971 Blazer has been reimagined with an entirely different goal in mind. Rather than chase rock-crawling credentials, this wild Blazer has been rebuilt as a two-door convertible pickup, hugging the pavement like a show car on its way to win points at a weekend meet. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but with the right bidder, it could still fetch more than a brand-new Ferrari 296 GTB. The Blazer now rides on a custom-built frame and features an adjustable AccuAir suspension setup that can bring it nearly flush with the tarmac. Cadillac Blackwing Power Like any good restomod, there’s also a new engine. It’s not just any old, off-the-shelf engine either. Power is provided by GM’s brutal 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8, found in the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and delivering 668 hp. It’s no crate motor bolt-in either. The install required a redesigned hood, and the LT4 is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Arguably even more impressive than the simple fact that this 55-year-old Chevy has a modern V8 is just how neat the engine bay is. There are no exposed cables, and the reservoirs have been subtly incorporated below several paint-matched panels. Heck, even the air intake has been hidden from view. Mecum Auctions Then there’s the exterior. The Chevy is now painted in Arancio California, a shade of orange from the Lamborghini palette. It also sits on 22-inch rose gold and black wheels, and includes upgraded Wilwood brakes. Remarkably, the interior is just as dramatic as the outside. It has been overhauled with a digital gauge cluster, a large central infotainment display, and dark brown leather across the dashboard, seats, and transmission tunnel. There’s also colorful accents of fabric throughout, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a custom audio system with Alpine and JL Audio parts. Mecum Auctions expects the truck to hammer somewhere between $325,000 and $425,000. That’s a serious number for a Blazer, but it’s hard to argue with the execution. Unique doesn’t come cheap.
