Report: Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany drove move for Bara Sapoko Ndiaye
When Bayern Munich brought in midfielder Bara Sapoko Ndiaye earlier this month, there was some confusion about the move, but a report from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg indicated that head coach Vincent Kompany was the driver behind the loan move: Vincent Kompany wanted Bara Sapoko Ndiaye badly after playing against Bayern with Grasshopper Club Zürich in the summer. Kompany then went to the executive level and pushed for that. Ndiaye is expected to join training soon if he is fit. Kompany had all the information about Ndiaye provided to him and that’s why Bayern signed the player. Ndiaye impresses with exceptional sprint speed, high ball security, and physicality. Bayern has a clear plan to give him playing time with the pros in the second half of the season. In the summer, Bayern will then decide whether Ndiaye will be permanently signed, kept, or loaned out again. If Ndiaye gets a chance for minutes and is successful, it could present some interesting options for Kompany in the midfield as a partner for Joshua Kimmich. Ndiaye has been battling a minor injury since the move, but should be ready soon.
